Sarah and Robert’s ‘Elegant Boho’ Derbyshire Wedding by Lauren Elliott

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have had a good week and that you are ready for the weakened ahead! My week has been super busy and very productive, so I’m ready for a couple of days off now. We are off to our friends 10th wedding anniversary party on Saturday afternoon, and then Sunday I am hoping to get out into the countryside for some fresh air! I hope if you have a wedding to go to this weekend or if you are getting married yourself that the weather is kind and you have an amazing time. On with today’s wedding and it’s the turn of Sarah and Robert who had to re arrange their original Derbyshire wedding date because of Covid, so they went form an October wedding to a July one! They chose a modern classic theme with elegant but fun decor. Gorgeous white draping, matched with white hanging lanterns, as well as the most stunning flowers. All captured perfectly by Lauren Elliott

A modern classic filled with fresh flowers, champagne and laughter! We have never felt so much love in one room, a truly special day.

Sarah and Robert were married on 10th July 2021 at The Riding School, Calke Abbey, Ticknall in South Derbyshire. ‘Our original wedding was set for 2020 however with Covid our venue went bust meaning we had to start again with planning. My sister works for the national trust and the riding school was a favourite building of hers so on her recommendation we went for a look and it was love at first sight! We had 70 guests for the full day, we’d originally had 100 but due to restrictions at the time we had to make some very tough decisions about making our guest list so much smaller! The planning actually didn’t take to long and with the help of Emma and Rebecca at The Riding School it was really smooth, I’d say around 6 months from changing venues we had everything in place!’

1. Prioritize Delegate Responsibilities

Efficient organization of a hen party demands meticulous planning and attention to detail. To avoid unnecessary stress, consider seeking the assistance of a seasoned event coordinator or entrust the task to a reliable friend. With companies like Flock hen parties, you can sit back and watch while they handle every aspect of your upcoming party.

This approach allows you to relax and fully savour the festivities without concerning yourself with logistical details. You can divert your attention to other equally important elements to ensure that you have the best party.

2. Involve the Bride

While surprises can be delightful, involving the bride in the decision-making process is crucial. Seek her input on the guest list, activities, and preferences. After all, it’s her special day, and tailoring the party to her liking ensures a memorable experience for all involved.

Remember, different people have different preferences and asking for her input ensures that you throw a party that doesn’t turn out to be a disappointment.

Sydney and Austin’s DIY Boho Ranch Wedding with a Retro Twist by Brooke Buck Photography

Happy Hump day everyone! We are now half way through the week and I have another busy day here on the blog with a post for you this morning and another this afternoon! We are starting this fine Wednesday with the wedding of Sydney and Austin who were married on 31st October 2021 in Sedalia, Missouri. They held their wedding on Halloween but kept the theming very subtle, with black accents in the napkins and the bridesmaids outfits, instead they focused on the autumnal reds and oranges in the flowers, giving the day a warm and cosy feeling. Big thanks to Brooke Buck Photography for the lovely photos.

Ask The Experts: 8 Things to Know as Your Plan Your Destination Wedding

Destination weddings have always been super popular, however I am seeing more and more people choosing to tie the knot abroad these days! Traveling for your wedding can give you so many amazing options, you could go anywhere in the world. How will a destination wedding affect your planning experience? Use these tips to enjoy every moment and plan the day of your dreams without too much stress.

Photo by Katja and Simon – full wedding here

1. Give Yourself More Time

Couples book destination weddings because the locations are either gorgeous getaways or famous spots for romantic moments. Either way, you’re not alone in your love for your potential wedding venue. Other couples are also likely eyeing it, so give yourself at least six months to a year to plan everything.

You’ll have more luck securing your preferred date by booking it well in advance. Your guests will also appreciate more time to schedule their big trip to your wedding between calendar events like holidays, school events and vacations they already committed to.

2. Set a Realistic Budget

Weddings always have custom price tags depending on factors like your guest list, venue and what type of wedding you want. A low-key backyard gathering with your closest friends will be more budget-friendly than a destination wedding at a famous venue with 500 attendees.

Consider these details to set a realistic budget. The average 2022 destination wedding cost $35,600 for domestic and international ceremonies, so prepare for a bigger budget. If you dedicate the most significant chunk of your budget to your venue, you can get creative to reduce other expenses like decor or thank-you gifts. Remember that you can always take on part-time jobs to help with your wedding’s budget. You can work from your own cargo van or car to deliver packages, write articles on the side, or even take on a part-time virtual assistant job.
As you plan your dream destination wedding, understanding your budget and exploring financing options is essential. For those concerned about their credit history, wedding loans for people with bad credit can provide a solution to ensure your big day is as magical as you’ve envisioned.”
