We all know how the Coronavirus has effected the wedding world over the last few...
A few weeks ago we introduced you to our lovely new Boho Bride & Groom Kerry and Jon. Last time they talked about looking for the perfect venue and deciding on themes for their wedding day. Today they touch on the subject of Save the Dates and the importance of finding a good photographer.

Happy Friday Boho Brides! I hope you’re well and have lovely plans for the weekend.
We’ve had a busy month planning and I’m thrilled that we’re starting to tick things to do off our list. You’ll be pleased to know we put together a list of our guests and couldn’t be more excited that we’re reaching the “year to date” milestone.
I was worried about getting married in August, for a number of reasons. The weather is so unpredictable and most people plan their holidays. Being a crazy planning freak, I thought it’s a good idea to make sure all our guests know in advance the date, we’d love as many people as possible to celebrate with us.
For a long time I’ve been searching online for Save the Date ideas, not sure whether to make them myself or buy them. I tried making my own and then changed my mind. So the search continued to find much more talented people. I think I must have driven Jon nuts showing him loads of different ones, that he suggested I whittle them down to my favourite 10 and we went through them one by one. There were four that we loved the look of, I’m so pleased we ordered samples as this allowed us to see the quality and details – I think without doing this our decision may have been different.
We stumbled across Norma & Dorothy finding beautiful rustic wedding stationery. I fell in love with our design as soon as I saw the sample. Grace is absolutely lovely and made every step seem effortless. Here’s a sneak peek of our Save the Date card.
I love photography; it provides us with memories, captures moments in life and allows us to share what becomes history.
For us finding our perfect wedding photographer was one of the most important parts to our planning. Our idea of perfect was to find someone who we felt comfortable with and we could trust to capture one of the most special moments in our life.
Perfect isn’t necessarily picking the most expensive or the cheapest photographer. Perfect is going to be different for everyone, ensuring that your chosen photographer has all the desirable qualities that you are looking for will help you find them. There are so many talented photographers to suit an array of budgets. Although if you do find a photographer and the cost seems to good to be true, it probably is. It’s always worthwhile looking at recommendations and approved suppliers as these are known and trusted within the industry.
We were extremely lucky, it didn’t take long at all to find our photographer. We knew we wanted relaxed reportage style photographs with a vintage feel that would capture the day as a story.
So in our quest we came across the fabulous Claire Penn. From the very first email, Claire made us feel relaxed and at ease. We met Claire at the Cock O Barton and we were totally blown away. We chatted for ages; it was like meeting a long-lost friend. We’ve found a shared love of gin and introduced her to the world of Tibetan Terriers during our engagement shoot.
Claire’s work is absolutely amazing and it’s fabulous to see all her hard work being recognised throughout the world! Here are some of our favourite pictures captured by the lovely lady herself.

Cinematography not in budget?
I have to say, when creating our to do list, videography was not included in our budget, we hadn’t really thought of it as an option. I’m generally guilty of overspending, however, when I saw this amazing video created by the masters at Papertwin Wedding Films I couldn’t help but fall in love with their work.
These guys produced something completely different from what I’d seen before. Out the window with tradition and in with contemporary talent that captivates you every time… it’s hard for me not to watch a video of theirs without getting emotional.
Their work has shown us the importance of capturing the day on video, this way we’ll get to see the emotions that the other was feeling in the run up to getting married and those moments that we may miss throughout the day.
We really can’t wait for Paper&Penn to share our day with us, as I know they’ll produce amazing memories that we’ll cherish and share forever.
