Today we head off to Stamford for this 50’s inspired shabby chic wedding which has been sent into me by the very lovely Rebecca Goddard . The wedding is very special as the bride is wearing her grandmothers wedding dress which she had adapted to suit her own style and shape, and I’m sure you will agree she looks amazing! Just goes to show that you shouldn’t throw anything away, who knows what the wedding fashion will be like in another 50-60 years!
The lovely couple are Zoe and Oliver who were married on 20th October in Duddington Village near Stamford and the reception was held at Oliver’s Parents’ garden , they had 164 guests. The wedding has been captured beautifully by Beccy who has done a fantastic job.
How they met
We met through school friends before going to the same university. We have been together about 9 years.
The proposal
Oli took me for a surprise trip to Bologna in Italy. He meant to take me to a very romantic place to propose but in fact we ended up in a grimy bar and he got down on one knee.
Why did you choose your photographer?
The photographer was recommended to us by a friend. We met Beccy and it was obvious she was the right person for the job.
The Dress
Dress was my granny’s wedding dress lace adapted into a 50’s style dress by Pretty Maids, in Leicester. I wore Dune shiny diamond shoes and mums jewellery and white fur.
The suit and bridesmaids
Waistcoat by Neal and Palmer, specially made. Suit was bought from Moss Bros. Bridesmaids wore simple blue ‘madmen’ style dresses by Phase Eight
Theme or colour scheme
Blue and Yellow
Food
Prawn Cocktail. Sausage and Mash. Treacle Tart and vanilla ice-cream.
Entertainment
2 bands and a dj (Wayward Sister, Rawhides)
Flowers and Decoration
Purple and yellow flowers, and lots of bunting
Special moments
The music- the 3 ladies singing Andrews style songs was very special
Advice
Stay calm and don’t be bullied

Love it!! So simple but such a nice feel. I love her grannies dress too!
Gorgeous pics… some cracking DIY touches and love the colours. Will pass some of these ideas on to a friend who is planning.
