Adriana and Mauro’s Beautiful Wedding in Valencia by Tom Cawdron Photography

Today we are fighting the winter blues as I whisk you off to Valencia in Spain for this super stylish and totally beautiful destination wedding. Adriana and Mauro were married in February 2024. With Mauro originating from Valencia but now living in London, it seemed like the obvious choice for a destination wedding location, and what a location it is! The church they held their ceremony in is truly jaw dropping, what an amazing building. As for the reception location, totally stunning! My favourite part of the wedding, apart from the very happy couple, is Adriana’s gorgeous gown, I love the cape detailing, what a wonderful touch to an already beautiful dress. Big thanks to Tom Cawdron Photography for these gorgeous photos.

‘Fun and impressive’

Adriana and Mauro were married on 24th February 2024 at Iglesia de San Juan de la Cruz in Valencia  with the reception at Masia Aldamar. ‘Mauro was born in Valencia and lived there before moving to London. The couple decided to get married in Valencia because of Mauro’s upbringing, and they found Masia Aldamar on the outskirts of the city. Their wedding ceremony took place at the stunning Iglesia de San Juan de la Cruz, a beautiful Spanish basilica in the heart of the city. After the ceremony, the couple drove off in a retro Porsche 911 to Masia Aldamar. Masia Aldamar is an old citrus farm that mainly produces oranges, which are iconic to the Valencia region. The drinks reception was held in the courtyard, where guests enjoyed plenty of wine and traditional Spanish ham, jamón ibérico. There was dancing, and Adriana spontaneously threw her bouquet from the first floor of the house. The party truly began during the wedding meal. Adriana & Mauro were announced to the room with an incredible roar of applause. They had 180 guests.’

How they met
Adriana & Mauro met whilst living in london together.

How did you choose your photographer?
They wanted a photographer to capture the day in a candid style. That’s how they found me through a google search.

Food
During the drinks reception, we enjoyed plenty of canapés, champagne, and jamón ibérico, a traditional Valencian ham. For the wedding breakfast, all of the guests were treated to a beautiful meal. The starter was a seafood dish featuring crab or lobster claw, followed by a perfectly cooked beef fillet served with dauphinoise potatoes.

Entertainment
Adriana & Mauro hired an unbelievable DJ (Alkilaudio) with the most incredible light display which really got the party started. They didn’t stop dancing all night and the vibe was electric.

Highlights from Tom the wedding photographer
The ceremony within the basilica was simply beautiful and deeply emotional. When I first walked into the church, my heart dropped at the sheer size and beauty of the space. I couldn’t believe I was photographing a wedding in such an incredible setting. The ceremony itself was filled with emotion, with both tears and laughter throughout.
The stunning golden-hour light over the orange field was perfect for capturing intimate couple portraits.
Towards the end of the night, some of the guests lifted Adriana & Mauro onto their shoulders in the middle of the dance floor. It made for an incredible hero shot to finish off the gallery.
