I have the most gorgeous wedding to share with you today, I can’t wait for you to see it. This Mountaintop Wedding in Colorado is an absolute stunner, the breath taking backdrop, the beautiful ceremony and the perfectly put together reception, all go together to make this a drop dead gorgeous wedding. Caroline and Sam were married on 27th September 2024 at The Summit at Colorado’s Pike National Forest. They filled their day with the most wonderful florals and really made their wedding decor pop with their use of earth tones and burnt orange. The table decoration is my favourite part of the wedding decor, the colours are just gorgeous. Big thanks to Nicole Henshaw Photography for capturing the day for us.
How they met
Sam met Caroline through her sister, Katie, who worked alongside Sam as a nurse in the same unit at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. Katie had mentioned Sam to Caroline multiple times, but the timing never seemed right – Caroline was in another relationship. When that relationship ended, Katie encouraged her sister to download Hinge, insisting, “That’s what all the guys I work with use.” All signs point to Katie secretly masterminding a way for Caroline and Sam to finally cross paths. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Sam and Caroline matched on the app. With Katie’s enthusiastic blessing, the two went on their first date, marking the beginning of their story together.
The wedding
Set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Colorado’s Pike National Forest, Sam and Caroline’s wedding seamlessly wove the grandeur of nature with a refined boho aesthetic, celebrating earthy tones and mountain textures. A wooden cross adorned with a striking floral bouquet served as the centerpiece of decor, set at the altar for their ceremony at the summit. A semi-circle of red clay rocks framed the intimate gathering, offering breathtaking views of the endless mountain range as the backdrop. Caroline recalled how she fell in love with her wedding gown immediately for its 3D lace, and how it perfectly matched the relaxed setting. “I felt so beautiful in the dress from the moment I put it on and every time after that,” she shared. Softened by the colors of September, pampas grasses and terracotta tones created a modern boho feel. Guests enjoyed an outdoor reception at the summit, complete with rustic tablescapes featuring raffia placemats, wildflower-inspired bouquets, and vibrant hot orange linens. True to their love story, Katie played an essential role in their wedding, crafting custom signage and a seating chart inspired by Sam and Caroline’s travels together.
