Happy Tuesday everyone. Today we head to Yorkshire for this Celestial themed styled shoot with a Sustainable edge. The shoot took place on 25th March 2021 at the Little Seed Field, Ripon in Yorkshire. The shoot was put together to show how wonderful an outdoor wedding could be using yurts and bell tents. It was also used as an opportunity to showcase how many items of a wedding can be sustainable and to really utilise the stunning backdrop of the Yorkshire countryside. So many wonderful suppliers got involved with the shoot and the results are these beautiful, laid back images, showcasing so many gorgeous ideas. Big thanks to North Sky Yurts for this gorgeous submission.
We wanted to showcase the yurts for outdoor weddings and work with female suppliers from Yorkshire. Suzanne Oddy Design provided the concept and styling and with a love of all things celestial she has a collection of hand-crafted decorations that she wanted to showcase. We wanted to demonstrate how you can host a wedding with small sustainable alternatives that are easy to add into wedding plans.
The natural landscape around Little Seed Field was a real inspiration as it’s such a scenic and relaxed spot. The florist, Walter + Blossom, used foraged foliage from the site to incorporate the setting into her gorgeous floral pieces. We were also inspired by the star gazing that Little Seed Field host and our brand name North Sky Yurts for the celestial theme. With the roof of the yurt being such a focal point, Suzanne wanted to create a ‘starry sky’. This theme flowed through the décor, the stationary with gold leaf and hot foil and the stunning tiered cake by Copper Spoon Cakery. Sustainability is core to our business values so we wanted to make sure we used sustainable methods as part of the shoot.
WOW! such an amazing wedding and decoration and a photographer did great work. I’m also a wedding planner and this really inspires me a lot.
