What about planning a wedding in Croatia? I was lucky enough to travel to Croatia last year and my oh my what an amazing place it is. Sunny, warm, amazing scenery, the perfect place to invite your friends and family to help celebrate your wedding. But with every destination wedding you need a first class wedding planner to help you plan every last detail and formality. May I introduce you to Flammeum – Weddings in Croatia. Eneja and Sanela are here to guide and help you create the wedding of your dreams and ‘take the stress out of your wedding planning.’
What made you start your business?
We, Eneja and Sanela have talked and planned for a long time before finally deciding to start our agency and dedicate our business careers to the wedding planning. Weddings are a shared passion between us. Our dreams were so vivid, that right after receiving our Master’s degrees, we started developing our idea. We started out by building our contacts in the wedding planning industry, obtaining as much information on our niche and getting as much knowledge as possible. It was easy to set our goal. It is to bring destination wedding planning in Croatia closer to the newlyweds all over the world. We intend to do it by lending a helping hand and overcoming any geographical obstacles during the wedding planning process. Both of us are also very well organized in our private lives, and we make a great team! That was noticeable from the first moment we worked together on a mutual project. Upon realizing that, we were convinced that our passion and strong personalities won’t ever let us give up on our dreams.
When did you start?
Flammeum was founded in August 2016.
Where are you based?
Flammeum is based in Pula, a small city in Istria, Croatia.
What sort of geographical area do you cover?
Wedding planners in Flammeum are specialized in planning weddings in Istrian region and Kvarner.
What were you doing before?
Before dedicating ourselves to wedding planning we studied Economics and obtained Master’s degree in Informational Business. Eneja has started her career on University as an administrative worker, while Sanela was developing herself in the banking and technological sector. However, we both knew that weddings are a niche in which we see ourselves in the future. Therefore, we both worked day in and day out to get the most out of our knowledge, experience and available funds. In retrospective we might say that we were not aware of how demanding it is to start your own business, but we made a single amazing decision. We funneled all Flammeum’s founding funds in building relationships with as many industry experts and potential clients as possible. We must say that it paid back handsomely in the long run.
How would you describe your style?
Our work style is sequential, planned, and detail-oriented, but above all we must highlight how organized we must be. We are constantly handling several dozens of weddings in Croatia and if you don’t keep all the information and documents neatly organized and separated, it can become a mess in no time! Well, in the end we are wedding organizers.
What is your biggest achievement so far?
Without any second thoughts, our biggest achievement are our happy newlyweds! There is nothing more heart-warming than looking at the newlyweds on their wedding day being so happy and stress-free. You could say that we work in the shadows, so they could forget all about wedding planning and enjoy every moment of their special day. We are so proud of them and those moments fuel our passion for weddings even more.
What makes you different to your competitors?
Every wedding planner is an artist in a way and therefore unique. A lot of wedding planners have a common perk. For example, our newlyweds can benefit from our extensive experience and local knowledge. As already mentioned, we are also very well organized. We are empathic and we never force any ideas on our newlyweds. Before making any suggestions, we always hear them out and try to envision their dreams as closely as possible. Do we even have to mention that we are available 24/7? But to answer what sets us apart from our competitors, we must highlight that there is nothing that can stop us from going a step further and making any wedding amazing!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Planning a wedding may not seem so, but it is a tedious job. We like to dive into details and organize the wedding from the ground up. It is important to concentrate on those details, because you get only one shot in staging each wedding. When the wedding starts, there is no room for error. The wedding timetable must be ready, all necessary documents must be available, every vendor has to be there on time and all decoration and flower arrangements must be mindfully prepared and fresh. Organizing a wedding in Croatia is a very responsible task. But once the wedding starts to roll out and the newlyweds start to shine through, we are simply overflown with emotions. Those are the moments we treasure the most in our job.
What sort of couple do you think you attract?
Actually, all of our newlyweds are somewhat different. But most of them share a common manner: they have so many ideas and wishes for their wedding day, while not realizing how much they are limited by their time. Our experience and advice guides them through the wedding planning process, and that’s what every type of newlyweds love and expect from their wedding planner.
What would be your ideal wedding to work on?
We enjoy challenges. We love it when newlyweds strive for something novel and different, which we haven’t done before. For example, we had so much fun while recently planning an Indian wedding, which was completely different from any other wedding in Croatia we organized until then.
Can you give me some information on your pricing structure?
Our prices are based on the size and complexity of the wedding. We offer various wedding planning packages: wedding organization, wedding coordination or both. Our prices are divided according to the wedding size, i.e. guest count. Lowest price is for a smaller wedding, up to 30 guests, while higher prices are reserved for weddings with more than 100 guests. We also offer organizing an elopement as a separate service. It is not rare for our newlyweds to inquire about organizing also pre- and post-wedding events.
What is your ideal way to spend a day off?
We both agree on this – laying on a beach, getting tanned, with a good book in one hand, and cocktail in the other.
What can you never leave the house without?
Mobile phone, wallet, lipstick, hand cream.
If you weren’t running your business, what would you be doing?
Both of us would probably be in the event or fashion business, doing jobs related to marketing or public relations. But who knows what would happen if we haven’t decided to start our wedding agency. It’s so hard to even think in this direction, as in this moment that seems to be impossible.
