Happy Monday everyone and how was your weekend? Filled with wedding planning or more peaceful? Mine was quiet and just the way I wanted it. As much as I sometimes dread January because it means that Christmas is over, I am actually enjoying it this year, simply because the pace of life has slowed down slightly, and I actually have time to breath, take a step back and re evaluate everything. It’s great having lots in the diary, but it is equally as good having some free time not to be rushing about from one place to another. What about you? Do you feel the same? Or are you counting down the day till January is over? Kaelyn and Ryan are gracing our pages today with their super chic country wedding full of Boho touches and the most amazing wedding dress from Simone Carvalli, those detachable sleeves are a dream! The whole day is full of country charm, along with some minimal but Boho chic decor, which is super pretty and really sets of the wedding in all it’s beauty. The day was captured perfectly by Me and him Photography
Kaelyn and Ryan were married on 19th July. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Cornman farms in Michigan. ‘We loved the overall vibe. It was classic country which is a great blend of what we love. We had 130 guests and it took about 8 months of active planning.’
How they met
We met in high school, and were together for about 7 years before being married.
The proposal
Ryan proposed to me when setting up our Christmas tree in our very first apartment together. I was placing the star and turned around to Ryan on one knee.
How did you allocate your budget?
We didn’t have a budget persay, but we tried very hard to stay below a certain number.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on the photography, food and videography. Those three things were very important to us.
How did you choose your photographer?
I found Me and him Photography on Instagram and fell in love with their overall style. They photograph candid moments so beautifully and we loved that as we are not super comfortable in front of a camera.
The dress
DRESS: Simone Carvalli. RING: Tacori
The suit and bridesmaids
Mens warehouse provided the suits. Bridesmaids: Show me your mumu
Theme or colour scheme
We loved the bohemian country theme. Lots of neutral colours, whites and greens and creams.
Flowers
I had herbal centre pieces as well as my bouquet mixed with white protea flowers. Down the aisle I had lots of pampas grass to bring in the boho vibe.
Decoration
Decorations were minimal mainly greenery, I used a company named events by icandy. they supplied all the goodies including cake stands, gold chargers, candle votives, etc.
Food
We had filet, chicken and a veggie ratatouille.
Wedding cake
The wedding cake was vanilla with a raspberry buttercream in the middle.
Entertainment
We only had a DJ.
Who supplied the stationery
Minted
Personal touches
I stamped everyone’s name on a tag at there seat for a personal touch along with the meal they were having. This looked super cute but was also very functional and kept things very organized, everyone had their seat and also were reminded of the meal they ordered several months prior to the wedding.
Special moments
Seeing each other for the first time that day was special. Dancing was the best of the day, families blending having a blast together.
Advice for other couples
To enjoy the day immensely because it will be over in a flash, pay attention to all the little moments. we felt like the day just started and the venue was closing.
