Lisa and Dom’s ‘Bohemian Minimalist’ Intimate Ibiza Villa Wedding by Del Mao Photography

Today I am taking you to my favourite place in the world: Ibiza! Lisa and Dom were married on 9th April 2019 at Villa Can Cuco, close to the amazing km5, on the way to San Josep. They had just 20 guests, keeping the wedding intimate and personal to them. The ceremony was held on a secluded beach and was fuss free and full of emotion, they then moved back to their private Villa for an evening of Cuban music, cocktails, canapés and a delicious BBQ. The whole day is what they call Bohemian minimalist, and is full of Ibizan charm, gorgeous table decor and the most beautiful Villa. The day was captured beautifully by Delphine from Del Mao Photography  who i will hopefully get to meet one day on one of my trips to the beautiful island.

How you met
We met at high school! Dom was the cool class clown with a shaved head and really good looking! I was more of a lone wolf type…friends with everyone but didn’t belong to any particular group-quiet and a little intimidated by the cool pretty girls! So we would know each other to say hi but didn’t know each other really. Then at around 24, we became Facebook friends and maybe once a year he would message to say HEY but it was never particularly flirty (or so I thought, I later find out this was Dom’s flirting haha!!!). I went to live in Australia for a year and then when I got back, we met up to catch up and I STILL didn’t realize he was flirting or that he saw it as a date. We spent a bit more time together as friends then he finnnaallllllyyyy made his move haha! He tells me it was always me ahhhhhh. I was absolutely clueless!

 The proposal
At Beso Beach in Formentera, feet in the water.

Theme or colour scheme
Bohemian Minimalist, if that is such a thing. Just beautiful natural materials. Lots of white, natural wood, dried palms and long stem roses. There was no theme as such-just all my favourite things in one day.

Entertainment
A Cuban band during cocktail hour.

Special Moments
Hearing the speeches I think as we’ve never really heard what our nearest and dearest think of us and the ceremony with our baby girl. Adam, Dom’s brother married us. Having our immediate family in Ibiza was really special as it’s like home to us.
