Today I am taking you to Hertfordshire for a gorgeous wedding that happened last summer. Rachel and Ryan always wanted an outdoor ceremony and a tipi reception, so when they found Lodge Farm House, that let them do just that, they were over the moon. They wanted their day to be filled with fun, amazing flowers and awesome entertainment and they pulled it off with ease. The Tipi looks amazing with the stunning sunflowers and wooden boxes filled with flowers. The ceremony area tucked behind the trees is just gorgeous and the night time entertainment with DJ and beat boxer looks like SO much fun! Big thanks to Nicki Shea Photography for capturing the day so well.
Rachel and Ryan were married on 25th August 2018 at Lodge Farm House, Hitchin in Hertfordshire. ‘The venue is very intimate. We wanted an outdoor ceremony and tipi reception which they specialise in, so it was a perfect choice. We had 80 guests.’
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
The splurge was on the food and the entertainment (magician / beat boxers / DJ)
How did you choose your photographer?
Saw Nicki’s photos from a friends wedding and loved the quirky and fun feel. When we met her, we just knew we had to book her! She is different …. but in a good way!
The dress
Dress from Morgan Davies
The suit
Suit from Marc Darcy
Did you have a theme or colour scheme?
Tipi festival vibe with lots of entertainment, vibrant flowers and a huge cheese table and cheese cake
Flowers
We went for big bright blooms with delicate touches of wild flowers to give a sense of colourful rustic summer garden. Something to compliment the relaxed, festival themed wedding’.
Decoration
The tipi was adorned with flowers planted in mini rustic crates on the trestle tables, a hanging flower chandelier, a couple of bay trees framing the top table and fairy lights in and around the tipi and surrounding the borders of the garden. Rose gold numbered balloons sat in the middle of the tables to accompany the mixed match frame seating plan personalised with initials.
Food
Anti-pasti sharing boards, fresh breads and dips with exotic fruits and cake bites for dessert
Wedding cake
Cheese! A huge array of cheese plates with grapes and garnishes. Cheeses included Montgomery’s Cheddar, Brebirousse d’Argental France and Colston Bassett Stilton.
Entertainment
A magician for the daytime and beat boxers and DJ for the evening.
Personal touches
Brides dads vintage Vespa made an appearance for some photo opportunities.
Special moments
The celebrant led ceremony was just perfect. Full of humour and emotion, just as planned. And the beat boxers kicked off the evening perfectly, high energy immense performance that completely wowed the crowd and had everyone’s hands up in the air.
