Today’s wedding takes us across the UK to the countryside of Ribchester in Preston. Hannah and William were lucky enough to get married at their parents farm, with the ceremony held at the local church. They filled their day with lots of pretty rustic touches, all with a nod to the gorgeous english countryside around them. From the beautiful flowers to the bunting, to the burlap and decorative hoops, this wedding is oozing country charm and pretty details. Big thanks to Delicious Photography for capturing it so well.
Hannah and William were married on 22nd July 2017 at St Peter and St Paul, Stydd Lane, Ribchester in Preston. The reception was held at our Parents House, Oak Bank Farm, Ribble Valley Holiday Cottages. It is Hannah’s family home, she grew up there. We had around 115 guests and it took one year exactly to plan.
How they met
We met in London in February 2014 having sent a few messages online. Our first date involved a short walk along the Thames and hours chatting in the pub afterwards. We saw each other most weekends after that. Having been together for 18 months, Will (bravely) decided to move in with me, my sister and my friends!
The proposal
I had been away for a friend’s wedding in South Africa with the girls, in July 2016. I made a point of being back for William’s birthday on the 22nd of July. I had booked my return flight ahead of the other girls, thinking I would be back in London for the birthday. I had however failed to calculate the actual flight time, so landed the day after his birthday. I decided that I would treat Will to a pizza, feeling very sorry for missing his birthday. Will isn’t a big drinker but I noticed he was finishing his wine much more quickly than I was (which is rare!) We opted for an ice cream on the walk home across Clapham Common. I was walking along talking to myself (something I usually do!) and turned to find Will behind me, down on one knee. He popped the question to which I said ‘yes, of course!’
