Today we are taking you to Rimini in Italy for this most gorgeous of Italian countryside weddings courtesy of Studio Fotographico. Anna and Lorenzo created the most stunning of weddings, with the perfect palette of green and white, which complemented their stunning surroundings perfectly. The natural foliage, against the whites of the flowers is both elegant, classic, yet modern at the same time. With the most amazing Italian backdrop, this wedding could only be one thing and that’s gorgeous!
Anna and Lorenzo were married on the 10th of September 2016 in a ceremony at Pieve di Secchiano, followed by a reception at Locanda San Leone, San Leo – Rimini, In Italy. ‘The location we have chosen is really a unique place. An ancient mill of the 3rd century, deep into the countryside hills of Romagna. A labyrinth of delightful nooks and details… it has been the last location we saw and actually, the only one we felt like it suited on us perfectly. I didn’t want to get married in Milan, Romagna is Lorenzo’s place and now, is one of my favorite places. We had 150 guests and the wedding took 1 year to plan.’
How they met
Our wedding has been really romantic, but our first meeting was a little less romantic… We bumped into each other in a co-working place in Milan. Lorenzo moved to Milan (from Rimini) short time before and was starting his agency. Anna opened not long before her branding studio. We may say that our jobs let us meet each other… after a slow beginning, exchanging songs on skype and doing lots of laughter, our love strongly exploded. After 4 years we got married.
The Proposal
2015 August, Pantelleria. That place became for us history and magic. We were doing trekking in a holly oak wood. When we reached our destination, we stopped in the wood to have our picnic. We couldn’t stay still, so we started playing hide-and-seek like two silly kids. There was something strange in the air, maybe because Lorenzo didn’t know how to bring out the ring! After a while he kneeled down and, in Sicilian (!!), he asked me to become his wife. I couldn’t imagine a better place and moment!
How did you allocate your budget?
We spent around 25/30K
Where did you splurge and where/ did you save?
The highest expense has been the location’s rent, but it definitely was worth it. As party favors we decided to donate only comfits to our guests and to give to charity (to Amatrice, due to the earthquake) the amount we would have spent for a present for our friends.
Why did you choose your photographer?
Because they are the best! A video maker we knew, suggested them to us, and it has been an exactly right suggestion! We loved them from the first glance, first of all because their style is really unique, they are really talented and truly pleasant!… during the shooting we really enjoyed and even laughed so hard, we were crying!
The Dress
The dress was drawn by my sister (Lalla Ferrara) and sewn by a great tailor from Milan, Atelier Nenè. I designed my shoes and they were produced by Manee Milano.
The Suit and Bridesmaids
Lorenzo’s suit was by Eddy Monetti dress shop, and his tie was from Salvatore Ferragamo. Bridesmaids used the same tailor of bride’s dress, and the same designer (Bride’s sister – Lalla)
Theme or Colour Scheme
Being deep into the countryside and due to holly oak leaf as “symbol”, we chose white and green as our prevalent colours.
Flowers
The set up was very natural, with eucalyptus garlands and white season flowers. Flowers: little rose branches, roses, limonium, lisianthus, wax flower, freesia, trachelium white and green, eucalyptus
Decoration
Flowers and most of all leaves! All the compositions were gathered into tin buckets of various dimensions. Flowers and decorations of the great Benedetta Ombroni from “I fiori di San Lorenzo”, Mantova
Food
Menù with a big influence from Romagna. Catering from www.ristoranterighi.com
Wedding Cake
Baked cream tart with wild berries, very simple but wonderful and delicious! Above a trash topper: a little statue of us printed in 3D
Entertainment
The Supermarket, a band from Romagna which can make you laugh to tears and is made of real talented musicians! Genre: Calypso, cumbia, mariachi, manouche and tango, together with jazz, radical improvisation and no wave… to say it simply jazz, bossa nova and improvisation with guitar, drums and shells!
Who supplied the stationery?
Anna, the bride
Personal Touches
We took care of everything, we have been the wedding planners of our wedding. From location’s choice to all the details of the set-up, stationery, playlist…
What were your special moments or highlights of the day?
The way from the entry of the church to the altar, a mixture of cheerfulness, facial paralysis for happiness and emotion. A really strong emotion… as if we were meeting again after years… and it was just after 10 hour. To see all our friends there for us and the emotions in the air. Cake cutting has been for sure one of the most beautiful moments due to the wonderful light of a dreamy sunset, the continuous laughter (and the final prosecco shower which fell on our guests). The football match between guests and groom picked on by friends! The party, which went on until late, after 2
Advice for Other Couples
Enjoy and laugh are keywords! Not to live the organization of that day with stress, and most of all comply with your wishes without caring about other people’s opinion
Biggest Surprise
The strength of our friends, considering that we started at 11 and we were still dancing at 2 in the night!
