Boho Loves: Blush and Pose Photography – Natural and Modern, Timeless and Classic Wedding Photography
Today I am delighted to introduce you to Caleb & Jasmin from Blush & Pose Photography. Caleb...
Today I am super excited as we have one of my favourite weddings of the year so far. This wedding is everything that I feel encompasses Bohemian! With an intimate ceremony of close friends, Jenny and Marvin decided to hold a woodland wedding and the results are this totally beautiful, free-spirited day of love and laughter. It isn’t surprising the whole day looks amazing though, as Jenny is a model and Marvin is in a band and they had the wonderful Elena Engels Fotografie planning the day and taking these gorgeous images. With the most stunning of outdoor ceremonies set amongst this gorgeous woodland, which was followed by a laid back celebration of food, speeches and dancing, everything about this wedding is pure Boho and I just adore it.
Jenny and Marvin were married on the 25th September 2016 in the middle of the woods in Germany, in a romantic setting right between the beautiful trees! ‘This wedding wasn’t supposed to be classic or typically traditional, since the bridal couple isn’t either. It was supposed to be a special wedding only between best friends. There were 20 guests in total. Included are the band, the photographer, and their closest friends. It actually took only 3-4 months to plan the whole wedding. Since we only celebrated with a small circle of guests and they even brought some food with them. We had a fall wedding.’
How they met
We met while filming a movie. Marvin plays drums in a band and I do a bit of modeling here and there. We’ve been together for two years now.
How did you allocate your budget?
We were given so much by our friends. They were involved with the food, the music during the ceremony and the ceremony itself. They were such a big help to us. Part of the decoration was even brought by some guests. But the main part of the décor was made by Mandy from Shabby Chic Events and nimmplatz. They were a great help.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Due to all the help we were able to save a lot with the music, the dress, his outfit, food and location.
Why did you choose your photographer?
Our photographer is a good friend and a great wedding planner. She planned 90% of our wedding, since she not only had the connections to other service providers, but also is a very experienced wedding photographer. Elena was the one who first took pictures of me and mailed them to a modelling agency, and that’s how it all began. We’ve known each other for four years now and worked with one another ever since. A couple of years later we ran into each other in our church. That when we knew it was God’s way! It was always clear to Marvin and me, that if we were ever to get married, she’d be the one taking our wedding pictures.
Actually my dress isn’t a typical bridal gown. Part of it was bought online and the rest was tailor made. I wore simple summer sandals and added some boho-jewellery to the look.
There was no suit. Since it was supposed to be a relaxed party within friends, we agreed on some chino pants and a white shirt. Just the way we are and how we feel comfortable.
Theme or Colour Scheme
Our theme was woods. We kept it very natural. A couple red flowers. No colorful shades, rather like fall. My girls made their floral wreaths themselves, two days prior.
The decoration was kept in the bohemian style. Nature and wood. No bright colors.
We served fruit, sausage and cheese platters, pizza and much more. It was rather finger food.
The wedding cake was full of fruits, a dream come true. So delicious and a simple pleasure!
Our entertainment was the band, during the ceremony. Then there was our DJ, who accompanied the party throughout the evening. In the end we had the wedding dance and a party. Of course there were some speeches during eating, as well.
Who supplied the stationery?
We had Andrea Wolf for the paperie. She made our invitations, as well as the menus.
We actually gave all the tasks to other people. Our photographer Elena Engels was responsible for the most important things. She made sure we were all taken care of.
Our highlight was the ceremony and the First look.
Advice for Other Couples
Plan to get married as you see fit. Forget all the traditions that you might not even like. It’s your day only, and please celebrate just the way you like. It doesn’t have to be a typical bridal gown and you don’t need to obey certain rules. Get married at the place, that you love the most. In your home, your favorite vacation spot, etc! The people who love you, will follow you wherever you feel is the right place for your wedding.
The biggest surprises of the day were the amazing speeches of our friends. We laughed, cried and enjoyed such a good time. That’s how a wedding is supposed to be and that’s how we wanted it to happen. It was a magical day. God blessed us with such good friends and so much love for each other!!!
