The weekend is here! How are you all? I am very well and I have been really enjoying the Autumn so far, the sunsets have been amazingly pink and orange and the colours of the leaves falling from the trees have been beautiful!
The blog had some great news yesterday and we found out the blog won highly commended for our DIY Section at the Wedding Blog Awards. What fantastic news which made us feel super proud.
Today we are back with our regular real bride feature. Diary of a Boho Bride. Last time Whitney and Tom were on the blog they chatted all about The dress and today they are here talking about The Invites.
The big news this month is that we have our invites and we are super happy with them! We decided to send the invitations out early on and at around the same time as the flights were released, just as a gentle prompt to our guests to get booking as our wedding day is not only during half term but also falls on a bank holiday! We found making the decisions about the invitations quite tough, we wanted something contemporary and in keeping with our colour theme so we were delighted when we stumbled across the Bronson suite by the seller Lvandy27 on Etsy. They may have come all the way from the US and I may have forgotten about customs charges but they were so worth it!
One of the things I have been dreading organising is a playlist for various parts of the w-day so on the rsvp’s we took the opportunity to ask our guests to complete the following sentence ‘I promise to dance if you play this song….’. It was an idea that I had seen on a few invitations now and I think it’s such a great way to ensure that you get everyone on that dance-floor!
With the invitations out we’re beginning to move onto the finer details and I’m hoping that now that the season has finished in Ibiza we’ll have more contact with our suppliers in the next coming weeks. We still have to make some key decisions about our catering, book entertainment and sort out how our guests will travel to the venue as it’s so remote. The list is endless!

Also a few things which are still up for debate are things like…do we or do we not book a videographer? Do we need a cake considering we are in such a hot country? Do we need to make one more trip to the venue before we get married? Do we bother sticking to tradition and sleep in separate rooms at the venue the night before the wedding? Is it practical to take wedding favours abroad? Should we have a top table? Should we move the speeches to earlier on in the day so those making the speeches can then relax? Or do we do away with speeches altogether?

I’m interested to hear from you all as to whether you have abandoned any w-day traditions? If so, what are they and what have you decided to keep?
Until next time!
