The first week is January is almost complete! I always look forward to this time as we usually take a few days off to rest after the busy wedding season. I have caught up on boring house hold chores and watched a few films and it’s been bliss. I hope the first week of 2015 for you all has been been a good one.
Today we are back with our weekly Diary of a Boho Bride feature and today it’s the turn of Whitney and Tom. Whitney chatted all about Finding the Perfect Wedding Dress Fabric on her last entry and today she shares with us her to do list and booking the all important HONEYMOON!!
Happy new year all! I hope you all had a lovely festive season and for those that got engaged over the holidays… A huge congratulations to you! It really is the best feeling :-)
It’s strange to think and say we get married this year! I know people tell you over and over but it’s true time really does go so quickly.
On the run up to Christmas I couldn’t face doing any wedding planning as there was just so much going on. However come the new year we decided to organise a lovely big lunch with our families with a view to do some wedding prep together and get ourselves organised. For us planning a wedding abroad is not just about the main day itself but we’re also going for the whole shebang and are also planning to have our hen/stag do’s out there, a family event the night before and a pool party the next day so if I complain hero stressed we are we only have ourselves to blame! Although so far I’m really enjoying it and the planning process has made me really value and appreciate how much our families want to get involved in the wedding (my aunt is making my wedding dress, tom’s dad is making the cake etc). It really is just impossible to do everything yourself so if your family or your bridesmaids offer to do something for you – take them up on it!
So aside from coming up with a huge to do list we have also booked our honeymoon, yay! I am soooooo excited about it, it’s literally my dream holiday. We booked through trail finders and they were super helpful as we didn’t at first know where we wanted to go, they offered great advice in relation to climate and the time of year we wanted to go. They also offer a honeymoon gift list service in which they provide you with personalised print outs to include in your invitations with a link to a website so your guests can contribute to your honeymoon.
So the plan is to go on safari in the Krueger national park for 3 nights, fly to Cape Town for 3 nights and then finally the last week on the beach in the Seychelles. Our honeymoon is booked for September (3 months after the wedding) so no chance of having the wedding blues when we have our trip to look forward to.
2016 is going to be a-mazing!!!!
