Kate graduated with a BA Honors in Fashion Design in 1998 and went on to study for an MA in Textiles from London’s prestigious Central St. Martins, feeding her obsession with fabrics, lace and beading. Halfpenny London launches its 2016 collection, inspired by the works of painter John William Waterhouse.  The feel of the collection evokes a floral, romantic and sensitive vibe, so typical of this impressionist artist. Stunning silk crepe dresses with subtle, intricate embellishment complement the elegant form fitting looks, perfect for fashion conscious brides to flatter a variety of feminine silhouettes.

The unique diverse collection weaves modern with vintage, still in keeping with Kate’s signature ‘Brit Cool’ style. Delicate fabrics and sophisticated shapes work on a soft palette of dreamy hues, with a strong emphasis on the silks. Interchangeable separates and dresses hand made from the finest Italian silk crepes, french laces and micro satins, designed by Kate, make up the covetable collection.

Key pieces include the Iris rose. A dream fill French lace plunging backless dress with covered buttons, capped sleeves and a long dreamy scalloped train worn over an ivory or blush slip, you choose or the dreamy silk chiffon Daisy dress which can have lace cap sleeves or feathers or simply be worn plain to have brides floating gracefully down the aisle. We also have the fashion forward Charlotte dress which is a draped corset dress in heavy silk crepe with a full circle skirt and draped shoulder detail.
