Intimate Woodland Wedding in Ireland By Tomasz Kornas: Boho Weddings

Happy Monday people and how are you all this fine Monday morning? Did you have a good weekend? Mine was lovely and I’m now ready for another busy week ahead. I’m starting off the week with this wonderful woodland wedding from Ireland. It’s a gorgeous day and the setting is totally magical, a wonderful woodland outdoor ceremony venue which allowed for some beautiful couple shots, all stunningly decorated like something out of a fairy story. Pamela and Kenneth were married on 9th August 2014 at Station House Hotel, Kilmessan, Co. Meath. ‘We were lucky to get such a beautiful venue with award winning restaurant and stunning gardens at such short notice due to a cancellation. I wanted an intimate outdoor ceremony and the grounds were idyllic for that. I knew the Station House Hotel was “the one” from the first moment I saw it.’

How they met
We are from the same small town and were in same class at school. We went to our Debs together as a couple and 17 years later we finally got married!

The Proposal
We were out and about in Dublin on a cold, wet, windy day in February this year when Kenneth popped the question. It was out of the blue, I had to ask him to repeat what he had said as I wasn’t really listening and wasn’t sure if what I thought I had heard was what he actually said! It was!

Special Moments
Ken arranged the ceremony music and choose a piano instrumental version of my all-time favourite song ‘1979’ by Smashing Pumpkins, I don’t think anyone else picked up on it but it was very special to me.
Ken is a big Lego fan so I wanted to somehow bring this into our wedding for him. I managed to find Lego bride and groom cuff links for Ken and Lego Arsenal football cufflinks for his brother who was the groom’s man and a big Arsenal fan. The wedding cake top was also a Lego bride and groom.
My sister-in-law offered to make our wedding cake, which we very gladly accepted. It turned out on the day to be a beautiful vintage themed tea party display with her homemade cakes, cupcakes and other delicious treats. There were no leftovers to take home

Advice to other couples
Take a little time out during the day for yourselves.
Be true to yourselves, don’t follow the ‘norm’ unless that’s what you want of course.
