Happy Friday everyone and how are you all today? I’m really looking forward to the weekend, are you? Later on today Nik, Dexter and I are going out for an early tea, Nik’s looking after Dexter so I can have a couple of cocktails and then tomorrow I have a girls night in planned, so it’s looking like a weekend of cocktail drinking!
To end the week I have this gorgeous super glam wedding from Ireland, a DIY wedding that goes to show that DIY weddings aren’t all about hay bales and village halls. Niamh and David chose a super glam venue and then added their own personal touches to the day with help from friends and family. The day has been captured beautifully by Sebastian from Art Wedding Photography
Niamh and David were married on 17th April 2015 at St Cocas Church Kilcock and the reception at Moyvalley Hotel & Golf Resort in Ireland. ‘ It has the best of both worlds, Ballyna House which is a 19th century mansion for the drinks reception which also has beautiful gardens & then the modern hotel premises for the evening reception & dinner. We had a total of 230 guests and it took a year to plan.’
How they met
We met in Brady’s Maynooth 7 years ago
The Proposal
We were engaged in New York in Feb 2013(we didn’t start planning the wedding until April ’14). Dave had the staff lay out flowers & champagne in our hotel room after an evening out for dinner & the theatre. He proposed when we arrived back at the hotel.
How did you allocate your budget
We didn’t really have a budget, we had a lump sum of savings but spent money throughout the year paying for & picking up things as we went along rather than having to pay for everything at once.
How did you choose your photographer
Came across Sebastian online & really liked his style based on his portfolio, he was the only photographer we met as once we met him we didn’t feel the need to meet any other photographers

Special Moments
Seeing how happy everyone was for us. Being able to enjoy the occasion so much with close friends & family. Grooms man sang our first dance as a surprise (Ian Tighe)
Advice to other couples
Don’t over think it or panic, it will all fall into place & if something does go wrong, forget about it & just get on with enjoying yourself, no one else will notice anyway!
Biggest surprise
Davids mother decorated the church along with the people from Absolutely Fabulous Flowers so that was a massive surprise as we were completely unaware of what was being planned.
Everything Linda Byrne Artist did was all a brilliant surprise (listed above)
Ian Tighe singing our first dance, we are big fans
