Today’s wedding has somewhat of a story attached to it…..the wedding that almost didn’t happen! Alexis and Anthony were eventually married on 8th October 2022 at Erin Estate in Ontario, Canada. Their wedding was planned to be in the day, outside with a marquee reception, however because of their dearly loved pet dog Doug going missing, the wedding nearly didn’t happen at all. While they were all getting ready for the big day, they got a phone call to say that Doug had gone missing and at that moment the wedding plans stopped and it was all systems go trying to find Doug. After hours of searching and with the sky getting dark, Doug was at last found, which meant the wedding was back on. A quick change of plans moved the ceremony into the reception area and they were married with Doug right by their side. As they missed their portrait shots prior to the wedding, they had an extra photo shoot with Fedora Media their photographer the following day. What an eventful wedding!

When two hearts decide to beat as one, the wedding bells start ringing – and so does the cash register. The average wedding in the United States costs a little over $28,000, so you can’t say weddings are not a serious investment.
Since finances can be a dividing subject in a marriage, it’s best to start with your right foot forward and open discussions right after the proposal. With emotions running high and Pinterest boards brimming with ideas, it’s all too easy for expenses to spiral.
This is where strategic money management comes into play. In this article, we’ll provide several financial tips designed to help you navigate wedding costs without side-lining your everyday finances or saddling yourselves with debt when the confetti settles.
Before you make decisions about venues or vendors, settle on a budget that’s comfortable for both of you.
Here’s how to get down to brass tacks:
And remember, it’s not always about having more money – you can still have a wonderful wedding even when you’re working with a tiny budget. For example, if a live band feels out of reach financially, maybe find a DJ with rave reviews but better rates. Small adjustments can make all the difference without compromising on quality or enjoyment.

Today I am delighted to give you a huge burst of colour with a retro chic vibe in the form of this colourful disco styled shoot. The shoot took place on 18th May 2023 at The Rialto in Bozeman, Southern Montana and was put together to show that not all weddings need to be full of pastel tones or nude pallets (not that there is anything wrong with those sorts of weddings,) Weddings can be vibrant, alive and full of the most off beat colour schemes. Here we see a collection of bright orange and pinks, with a scattering of disco balls for good measure. Retro glam, meets modern disco and I am totally here for it!
