I see a lot of weddings in my job, as you can imagine, but ever so often a wedding will drop into my inbox that really takes my breath away. Today’s is one such wedding. It’s actually an elopement and it’s set in Richard Branson’s very own Private Game Reserve in South Africa. This is somewhere that is definitely on my wish list to visit! I have always wanted to go on Safari and these photos by Megan Ann Photography ,who was entrusted with the very lucky job of capturing James and Meghan’s Safari Elopement, have only made me want to go even more. What more could you wish for in a wedding backdrop! And the chance to see all those amazing animals on your wedding day, well what an experience! The whole day is totally stunning!
Meghan and James were married on 11th May 2018 at Ulusaba, which is Richard Branson’s Private Game Reserve in South Africa. ‘Since James is from England and I am from America, we knew it would put financial pressures on our family and friends to come to a wedding abroad and we didn’t want to do that. We really wanted to elope on a safari in South Africa in a beautiful part of the world, doing a fun activity and making the day as memorable and relaxed as possible which is exactly what happened. It was just the two of us at the wedidng and it took a matter of hours to plan, it couldn’t have been easier! Our venue took care of all the details so that I didn’t have to.’

As we ease ourselves gently into the week, I have the most gorgeous festival themed wedding from Matt Wing. I featured Matt’s work a couple of years ago with Camilla and Joseph’s stunning Preston Court wedding, this time it’s the turn of Callum and Jenny. Callum and Jenny loved Browning Brothers – Chalkney Water Meadows as it had everything they wanted in a wedding. A glamping spot so their guests could camp, a stunning area for their tipis’ which meant they could hold their ceremony outdoors. But most of all the freedom to hold their wedding their way, with face painters, dogs, children, great food, lots of cocktails and a kick ass party!
Callum and Jenny were married on 7th July 2018 at Browning Brothers – Chalkney Water Meadows. ‘It was the only venue we visited. As soon as we arrived and walked around the lake we got a really good feeling and we could imagine all our friends and family there celebrating! The venue was perfect for us as guests can glamp in the tipis on site and it is all in one area. There is a beautiful lakehouse where I stayed with some of the bridesmaids the night before that is a short walk to the ceremony. We felt it had everything – and they allow dogs! We had 170 guests and it took a year to plan.’

Happy Monday everyone, I do hope you have had a wonderful weekend? Did you get up to anything wedding related? I’d love to hear about your weekend activities. We had two parties this weekend. Saturday was a friend’s house/garden party and Sunday was a children’s birthday party! It was lovely to spend some time with friends and have a good catch up! On with this weeks weddings and I have some real beauties for you, starting with today’s stunning wedding from Melbourne. Sometimes weddings don’t have to be all about the details and decor. For me, with some weddings, it’s all about the amazing photography, the use of light, the emotion caught on camera and the overall feel of love you get from being in the privileged position to view a couple’s wedding. Darin Collison is one such photographer and he has captured Gabrielle and Jared’s wedding so beautifully, the pictures really do speak for themselves. Big thanks to www.bweddinginvitations.com for sending me the gorgeous submission.
Gabrielle and Jared were married on 9th December 2017 at The Farm Yarra Valley, Victoria, Melbourne. ‘Totally cheesy, but it really was love at first sight with The Farm. It was the first and only venue that we looked at. It was everything we were looking for. We had 102 guests and it took 14 months to plan.’
