Ask The Experts: How To Keep Your Wedding Bang Up To Date

Designing and planning a wedding can obviously be one of the most stressful experiences of your life – even if the end result is a fun experience and the best day of your life. There are so many things that you might be keen to try and achieve when you are planning out your wedding, so it’s worth thinking about what you actually want from it. If you can figure that out early on, it should mean that you are much more likely to actually end up with a day you will love and be really happy with.

One of the things that many people want from their wedding is for it to be as modern as possible. If you are concerned about keeping your wedding up to date with the latest trends and making sure that it actually feels like a contemporary wedding day, then there are many things you can focus on to help that along. In this post, we will help you with this by looking at what those concerns might be. Let’s take a look at what you’ll want to consider here.

Look At The Trends

The fact is that the trends change all the time, so you’ll want to be aware of them to know what’s going on and what is popular at the moment. As long as you can figure that out, you will then be able to make your own decisions about whether or not you are going to follow along with those trends, so this is absolutely something that you will want to bear in mind here. Looking at the trends is going to mean that you are much more likely to actually know what you want and how you are going to get it.

Of course, it’s up to you whether you pay attention to them or not – but either way, it’s good to know what they are so that you can make your decision. So carrying out the research is a really good thing to do in any case, and it’s a good idea to make sure you are doing this.

Once you know at least the main trends, you can start to think about which of them you care about and which you are happy to ignore. And you may find that just making that decision is already going to start moving you in a certain direction with your wedding plans.

Karina and Luke’s Family Friendly West Sussex Beach Wedding by Matt Ryle Photography

Today I am taking you to gorgeous West Sussex for the wonderful wedding of Karina and Luke who were married on 31st June on west wittering beach in Chichester. They had 110 guests, and planned their wedding over the space of about 2 years. The day took place on the beach that Karina visited many times as a child, so it held extra meaning to them. The reception then took place at Karina’s parents garden, where they held a chilled reception, full of lots of dancing and lots of smiles. Matt Ryle photography was there to capture the day for us.

The first big family get together after covid so it was highly emotional and everyone made the most of being together and danced the night away. The most important thing for us was to bring our friends and family together to have fun!

Rebecca and Shaun’s ‘Urban Glam’ Autumnal Yorkshire Wedding by Lucy Alexandra Photography

Happy Friday everyone! Who else has got that Friday feeling? The week has flown by here at Boho HQ, it has been a super busy week and it looks like I have another busy one coming up next week, which is all good. This weekend a few of us are going out to a dance music event in Sheffield, the first of the season, I am super excited! I can’t  wait to get my dancing trainers on! However before that we have the whole of Friday to get though, and making the transition to the weekend that bit easier is the gorgeous autumnal wedding of Rebecca and Shaun, courtesy of Lucy Alexandra Photography. This is such a gorgeous detail heavy wedding. Lots of terracotta, rustic touches, dried flowers and so much beautiful decoration, I just love it!

Rebecca and Shaun were married on 19th October 2023 at Bowers Mill in Yorkshire. ‘We loved the urban feel we thought it would work really well with our autumnal theme, we had 50 guests and it took around 18 months to plan. Once we’d selected Bowers Mill as our venue it really helped the rest of the planning to flow. The team there are brilliant at keeping things on track and really lightened our load by liaising with all of our suppliers.’
