Well hello you lovely lot and welcome to Monday! I hope your weekend was good? Full of love, joy and laughter and that you are ready and raring to go into the week before us! I had a lovely weekend, full of fresh air, outdoor fun in the countryside, catching up with friends and generally enjoying life! With just 5 sleeps to go until the wedding I have been planning happens, this week is set to be super busy. I have all the final checks to do, suppliers to contact and then set up day is Friday with the wedding on Saturday, exciting times! Today though I am bringing you the stunning wedding of Rallio and Walter, who chose a destination wedding in Greece. This intimate wedding is full of chic styling, natural, light and earthy tones, mixed with elegant gold accents. The table scape is just divine, so beautiful and set against this stunning backdrop, you really can’t go wrong! Big thanks to Lighthouse Photography for capturing the day for us and to www.imevents.org for doing such an amazing job with the planning.
Rallio and Walter were married in July 2021 at Kea in Greece. ‘My wedding planner Anneta proposed me the destination and I fell in love. We had 20 guests, originally I was planning to get married a year before with 150 guests close to my hometown but Covid changed our plans and we decided to travel with our very close friends to a unique destination and create lifetime memories together.’
How did you allocate your budget?
As this was a destination wedding, accommodation was the 50% of our budget and the rest was services and decoration.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We saved in lighting we wanted to be under the natural sunset hues and candle lights.
How did you choose your photographer?
My wedding planner proposed our vendors and Lighthouse were the perfect choice.
The dress
Berta. Love at first site.
Theme or colour scheme
Earthy tones.
Flowers
Pampas grass, white orchids, white peonies, blush garden roses and anthurium.
Decoration
Boho style with rose gold details.
Food
Greek Mediterranean cuisine in buffet style so everyone can choose their preferred dishes.
Wedding cake
The wedding cake was marble style with few flowers, which Maria’s cake and cookies designed. Funny part about the cake: it travelled from Athens by boat the same day of the wedding so it can be fresh on my wedding day. My wedding planner picked it from the port to bring it to the reception venue.
Entertainment
Live saxophone and DJ
Who supplied the stationery?
Inspired Moments
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
To the Greek islands on a yacht.
Personal touches
We brought “loukoumi” a traditional Greek Turkish dessert made in Komotini a town in Northern Greece and offered it as treat in a box that served also as a place card.
Special moments
The moment I saw my husband waiting for me at the church.
Advice for other couples
Hire a wedding planner, it will save you time, money and keep you calm even when times are not going as originally planned.
