Welcome along to another week! it’s a super busy one for me at Boho HQ this week as I have quite a few weddings coming up over the next few weeks that I need to get organised, finalised and ready. What about you? For now though I have a gorgeous country Tipi wedding which has been sent into me by Nicola Thompson, and I just adore it! It’s the wedding of Natalie & Rob who were married on 14th April at St Wilfrid’s Church, Mobberley, with the reception in Tipi in Mobberley! They had 150 guests and the wedding took 12 months to plan.
They describe their wedding as ‘An amazing, emotional and fun experience that was shared with all our family and friends!’
It’s a fabulous wedding, and so quintessentially english, what with the vintage tea cups, the country flowers, the bunting, all the homemade and personal details that Natalie put together, the setting…….so English and so well thought out and put together. You can see that Natalie has spent a lot of time getting the look right and everything ties in so beautifully! A really amazing day!
How they met
We met when we both worked for Barclay’s Bank – we were in the same training group.
The proposal
We were staying at my parents cottage which is in Borth Y Guest near Portmerion in North Wales, and on our last day Rob was badgering for me to go for an early morning walk. We walked up to a headland that has stunning views of the estuary and Snowdon and there on a bench in flint he had collected from the beach were the words ‘will you marry me’
The venue
We couldn’t find anywhere that we both loved and that was a bit unique. When we saw the Tipi tents we just fell in love with them and there was no going back.
The Dress
Dress was by J Crew, shoes from Top Shop, bag – Accessorise, hair garland – gardens of whimsy on etsy, bracelet from blue dove studio on etsy
And the suit and bridesmaids
Suit was from Debenhams and the bridesmaids dresses were from Warehouse
Theme
We just wanted a laid back – vintage meets country theme
Food
We had afternoon tea so a selection of sandwiches, flap jacks, scones and vanilla slices followed by a BBQ in the evening
Entertainment
DJ and a band called the Henry Revue
Flowers
I had a mixture of roses, hydrangeas, blue bells and many more!
Decoration
All things vintage and country!
Personal Touches
Special moments
The actual ceremony and then partying with all our friends and family!
Planning advice
Don’t leave anything until the last minute, remember it’s about the two of you and not your guests, if you need help then hand jobs out to ushers/bridesmaids etc, minimise stress as much as possible!
Biggest surprise of the day
My bridesmaids had arranged for a vintage morris minor to take me to the church! I thought I was just going in my father-in-laws own car and then this arrived! It was a lovely surprise! Also, my husband arranged for us to stay in The Wizard in Alderley Edge on our wedding night and it was fantastic! Completely different.
