I have a gorgeous wedding to share with you today full of elegant touches and a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Chelsea and Shane were married on 11th October at The Estate at River Run in Maidens, Virginia. They opted for an outdoor ceremony making the most of the stunning grounds, followed by a delicious wedding breakfast and finishing off with an energy filled party. The whole day was filled with elegant touches, the most stunning flowers and a twist of Boho with their terracotta colour scheme. Arli Quinn Photography was there to capture the day for us.
Chelsea and Shane’s story began in the middle of an ordinary workday. In 2020, they were both working as physical therapists in Old Town Alexandria, where long shifts and shared routines slowly turned into something more. Their connection grew over time, rooted in familiarity, trust, and the kind of partnership that comes from showing up for one another every day. Years later, on a winter trip to Breckenridge to celebrate Chelsea’s birthday, Shane waited until the very last night to propose. After a late dinner, he insisted on stopping for a photo outside the restaurant, despite Chelsea being ready to head home. When a stranger offered to take a video instead, the moment gave itself away, and seconds later, Shane was down on one knee. Caught off guard in the best way, Chelsea said yes without hesitation.
At the Estate at River Run, their wedding unfolded with a sense of intention that was felt in both the big and small moments. The ceremony centered around a wooden arbor handmade by Chelsea’s uncle, its stunning craftsmanship elevated by the beautiful florals woven throughout. During the ceremony, their parents invited every guest into the moment, asking them to join hands in a chain that reached all the way to the altar as they prayed over the couple. Chelsea carried her late father with her in a subtle yet personal way, with a small piece of his shirt sewn into her gown and a photo charm tucked into her bouquet. As the night shifted into celebration, the energy lifted without losing that sense of meaning. A surprise appearance from the JMU Duke Dog brought the room to life, while a golden sunset during dinner carried a significance that felt unmistakable to Chelsea. Guests found their seats with a glass of champagne in hand, drifted between moments of laughter and dancing, and eventually gathered for a sparkler exit. Long after the crowd thinned, Chelsea and Shane stayed behind for one last dance alone—a moment that felt entirely theirs after a day shared with everyone they love.
