Anett and Oszkar’s ‘Boho Inspired’ Modern London Wedding by Elena Kargina

Happy Wednesday everyone, If you are in the UK I hope the weather is still sunny and bright where you are, I am loving this weather we are having long may it last! Talking about lovely summer days, I am taking you back to the September of 2023 today, when the sun shone in London and Anett and Oszkar enjoyed their boho inspired modern London wedding. They filled their day with dried flowers and homemade details and spent it with their closest friends and family. Elena Kargina captured the day for us.

It was a magical day with lots of love, laughter and happy tears. The most perfect day of our lives.

Anett and Oszkar were married on 15th September 2023 at The Princess Victoria in Shepherd’s Bush, London. ‘We have been living in London for 10 years now. When we decided to get married, we couldn’t find a better place for marking this important event. We had 55 guests and it took a year to plan with the help of our friends and family.’

How they met
We met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in 2013.

The proposal
It happened in Paris on our first ever trip there. It was simple and sweet, full of happy tears.

How did you allocate your budget?
We set an overall budget, but we didn’t set individual spending limits for the different expenses.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on the wedding dress and the honeymoon. We made up for it by decorating the venue ourselves.

How did you choose your photographer?
We saw Elena’s photos on Hitched, and we loved her vision coming through her previous work.

The dress and your accessories and shoes
The wedding dress was from Evelie Bridal. They helped me with everything from alterations to veils.

The suit and bridesmaids
The suit was bought from Suit Supply. Light alteration was necessary, and we used their in-house tailoring service.

Theme or colour scheme
Boho, boho, boho

Flowers
Dried flowers from Hidden Botanics. They were gorgeous. We kept two bouquets, and they are just as beautiful as on our wedding day.

Decoration
Candles, dried flowers, table runners, fairy lights

Food
We picked meat and vegetarian options to cater for all preferences. The venue provided catering, and we could pick from a large range of options. The meat menu was crab toast for starter and salsa verde porchetta for main, while the vegetarian option was quiche and veggie wellington. Everyone had sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

Wedding cake
We had a two-tier lemon zest and raspberry white chocolate cake made by the lovely and talented Emma. The cake was designed to fit in with the boho style as well.

Entertainment
The very talented guitarist, Marc Burguera played live music during the ceremony and dinner. After dinner, a DJ was playing party favourites.

Who supplied the stationery?
We chose a boho style wedding invitation and menu cards from the lovely Harry

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We spent a week in Rhodes in an all-inclusive resort (Eden Roc Hotel) and we had the best time of our lives. We rented a car and drove around Rhodes, enjoying all the island offers.

Personal touches
The groom, the father of the groom and the best man had matching socks with their names on it.

Advice for other couples
Less is more.

I am an Italian wedding photographer based in Sardinia. I like my job because I am photographing the most important and happiest day of two people’s lives. It’s gratifying to know that these photos will be cherished memories for many years to come. I strive to pay attention to details, convey the mood, and capture true emotions. I don’t have a unique style. I like fine art with light and clear colours but also the classic, dramatic style with intense colours. I try to choose a style suitable for each wedding.
