‘Citrus Garden’ From York to The Mediterranean Warm Romantic Wedding inspiration

Happy Friday everyone! Well we all may be dodging the snow out there at the moment, with this cold February weather, but today I am bringing you a lovely dose of sunshine to hurry spring along, with this gorgeous Mediterranean inspired styled shoot. The shoot took place at The Stables in York ‘Taking inspiration from Amalfi coast weddings to bring citrus fruits, blue & white tiling, Italian cocktails and a warm, romantic vibe.’ This shoot is just what we need at the moment, lovely spring colours, bursts of yellow, accents of blue and lots of lush greenery. So much beautiful inspiration if you are looking to hold a spring or summer wedding, big thanks to EPH Creative for sending it in to me.

Citrus garden, summer wedding ideas with a nod to the beautiful Amalfi coast. Mediterranean details, a stunning boho gown and a joyful colour pallet to evoke warm, romantic vibes.

Kristie from EPH Creative tell us more about the shoot

I came across the venue at an open day in April and immediately fell in love with it. The botanicum was a beautiful space with masses of natural light which leads out onto the walled garden filled with an amazing array of florals. I immediately felt inspired to put together a styled shoot with different ceremony options. I wanted to show how brides could bring a bit of the Mediterranean to their summer / outdoor wedding. The theme was citrus garden with a nod to the Amalfi coast showcasing 3 different ceremony ideas, different table settings and interesting ways to dress a cake area, welcome signs and table plan. With outdoor weddings becoming more popular the beautiful walled garden with the iron arbor made the most stunning spot for a ceremony. The greenhouse offered another area for an intimate wedding and the perfect opportunity to have lots of lemons and foliage. The botanicum then brought the outside in with Orange trees and a more rustic look. So lots of lovely inspo in one shoot!

We wanted to showcase this beautiful new venue and use local suppliers along with sustainable hire pieces for a more eco-friendly wedding. A taste of the Mediterranean in the UK, bringing the outdoors in with lemon and orange trees, lots of foliage, seasonal florals. We also used fresh flowers from the walled garden so that the bouquet tied in with the beautiful surroundings, again an eco friendly choice. The Mediterranean styled tiled plinths were the inspiration behind the cake and the stationery which also featured citrus fruits. We used an ornate metal screen to hang the welcome sign and seating plan as an interesting alternative to an easel. Sticking with the eco-friendly ethos, finishing touches for the table scape were from a charity shop and gave the perfect Amalfi vibe with the floral blue and yellow table cloth, matching napkins and decorative glass wear. I feel we definitely achieved what we set out to create.
