A few weeks ago I had a lovely email from a gorgeous bride telling me how the blog had been an inspiration to her during her wedding planning and would I like to feature her wedding. Well the answer was of course a big YES! So today I m delighted to share with you the stunning wedding of Jet and Anthony who were married at Tythe Barn Launton in Oxfordshire. This gorgeous couple managed to mix both cultures perfectly with a celebration over both the Friday and Saturday and what a celebration they had! The wedding looks fun filled and heart felt from beginning to end, Kevin Belson was there to capture the day in all it’s glory.
Our wedding activities started on Friday (August, 19th 2022) with some Indian traditions. We started with an intimate gathering at the Tythe farmhouse of close friends and family. We kick started the festivities with a traditional Indian haldi ceremony then followed by a mehndi ceremony. It was really important for both of us to incorporate both cultures ( as we represent both English and Sikh cultures) into our wedding and, luckily, we did it seamlessly!
On the wedding day a blend of our cultures came together with the ceremony being more traditional English: with the pops of colour of our choice and my white dress with a twist of sparkle.
Following the ceremony canapés and drinks were served and guests were serenaded by our amazing sitar player. Our wedding breakfast was a traditional Indian meal prepared by our amazing chef Arminder Dugal. We wanted to create a welcoming family feel and I think we could achieve that.
The evening I changed into a traditional Indian dress and both Anthony and I were presented by our Dhol players (Indian drums) to kick start the evening celebrations. This was followed by a surprise rendition of one of Freddie Mercury’s song by our amazing groomsman and band. Throughout the night the music was a mixture of the band, Punjabi music with the Dhol players and the Dj to finish off the evening.
Everything we paid for contributed to our overall unique experience. Would do it all again in a heartbeat!
