Franky and Gary’s Relaxed Wedding in Northern Ireland all Planned in 10 Weeks. By Sheena T Photography

Well hello you lovely lot and how are you all? As I am currently living in a house of Covid I am doing my best to juggle work and child care, along with some home learning thrown in for good measure! It feels like it’s going to be a long old week! But to brighten up up the day I have this gorgeous relaxed wedding from Northern Ireland, courtesy of Sheena T Photography. Franky and Gary had originally planned their wedding to be held in Spain, but when this got cancelled because of Covid they had only 10 weeks to re-arrange the wedding and find somewhere else. They managed to pull it off though and ended up with a super chilled summer wedding, filled with sunshine, smiles and lots of love.

 Without a doubt thee most chilled out relaxed wedding we’ve ever been at (bonus it was our own) plus it was 24 degrees in Ireland!

Franky and Gary were married on 27th August 2021 at ballyscullion park at Co Derry-Londonderry in
Northern Ireland. ‘We had to cancel our Spanish wedding due to Covid. It was the 2^nd place we contacted and booked it with 10 weeks to go. We had 105 guests and it took 10 weeks to plan’

How they met
Together 6 years. Met in a night club on boxing night in strabane of all places.

The propsal
The wettest, windiest day at inch island, Donegal. No nails, tan or makeup, I was a delight. . With our 6 month old daughter asleep all cosy in the pram. Gary designed and had my ring made and had originally planned on proposing when we were visiting my home (the Isle of Skye, Scotland) a few weeks before but the ring wasn’t ready. But it was so us!

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Saved on little things like favours and pointless things that I can’t remember we didn’t have!

How did you choose your photographer?
Sheena had done a family shoot for us a year or so before and knew instantly we wanted her for our wedding at home. Pure luck she was free on our date! She was the 1^st person we contacted after we booked our venue

The dress
Dress by Made with Love, from ivy & white in Lisburn. Shoes were guess & jewellery by a wee independent off of Instagram.

The suit and bridesmaid
Suit was black tie showroom, Derry. Girls dress’ ASOS.

Theme or colour scheme
Neutral and not too ‘weddingy’ wildflowers and nothing ‘fixed’ looking.

Flowers
Dried by Sass & Halo Derry. They’re now centre stage in my kitchen!

Decoration 
Candles candles candles.

Food
Steak.

Wedding cake
Made by my mum, she’s a pastry chef.

Entertainment
A 2 piece from Belfast called fairly local for the reception, bloody unreal! And a band from Dublin called Catch 22.

Where are you going on your honeymoon?
No honeymoon yet, a cruise though when we get around to it. Maybe we’ll go somewhere close like Ireland and visit the historical sites in Dublin with a tour of the country, but maybe we’ll choose a more exotic destination, the possibilities are endless.

Advice for other couples
Don’t stress it. Make sure the foods good & get a brilliant photographer & videographer. Make sure the music is banging and it’ll be great!
