Pua and Ivy’s pre wedding shoot: Part 1 – A 60s themed picnic

Today I am featuring a pre wedding shoot in two parts. It was sent in to me by my good friend Shelly at Toast of Leeds, and the couple flew all the way over from Malaysia for the shoot (and mixed in a bit of sight seeing at the same time)
The shoot features a beautiful bride to be, who I think you will agree is more than comfortable in front of the camera.

Pua and Ivy who have known each other for 15 years but actually been together for 2 years, they describe their shoot as ‘Classic & Vintage’
The wedding itself is set for February 2012 in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. It has a vintage purple and 60s theme. They will be having 600 guests! Which is typical in Malaysia……….I know can you imagine having 600 people at your wedding!!

The shoot comes in two halves: part 1 is the styled Picnic shoot and part 2 is the bridal shoot. Once again Shelly pulls off a great shoot,  she has such a great imagination and is always fantastic at putting these things together.

I’ll let Shelly tell you a bit more about it!
‘When Ivy first got in touch with me about their pre-wed shoot, she mentioned she loved vintage and, with Liverpool being home to the Beatles, I figured 60s was a safe bet.
So, thanks to Lucy at Daft as a Make-up Brush ([email protected])  Ivy was soon transformed from blushing bride to funky 1960s chick complete with a lacy scarf in her hair (check out that little beehive) and a gorgeous scalloped embroidered shift dress. Fab.’

‘We also managed to borrow some other props from the lovely Fabrose who sent over the LOVE letters, fabric brooch and some cute blue bunting, whilst all our lovely 1960s china, picnic basket, flask, books and records etc were kindly loaned to us by my friend Rachel at Simply Vintage Events.’

‘Course what I’m not telling you about is the fact that it was raining, it was almost dark and it certainly wasn’t the weather for a picnic. In fact, this little lot was shot in under half an hour. We raced against the clock like crazy people. But that’s the British weather for you! I mean a picnic in England just wouldn’t be proper unless it rained and made all the cake a bit soggy right?”
