If you hadn’t noticed it’s blooming cold outside! We have had our fair share of snowy weather, ice and minus degree days here in the UK. But as much our heating bills may be flying through the roof, Winter is a super romantic time to get married. Today I am delighted to share with you this Old School Romance styled shoot, showing off how a Winter wedding can be stylish, fresh, modern and super romantic. The shoot took place in London (not in the UK) the Canadian city in southwestern Ontario in January last year. It was photographed by Heartwood Images and submitted and designed by Perfectly Designed Events. I just love the colours of this shoot, the muted greys and blues, the greenery and the fresh addition of the white all pull together to make this shoot on trend, yet classically beautiful. My favourite has to be the cake table, I just adore the use of the chest of draws and the fabric and flowers, adorable!
Mallory and Timothy’s relationship is the absolute definition of classic romance and they were the perfect fit for this winter editorial shoot designed by Perfectly Designed Events at The Elm Hurst Inn & Spa. Our goal was to capture the natural beauty of this renovated Victorian era mansion (originally build in 1872) with a couple that truly embodied the magic of old school romance.
Each amazing Wedding Professional took the time to ensure every aspect of this style shoot was perfectly curated, from the stunning cotton based florals from Grow & Bloom Co. to the delicate snow-like details of the Christina Wu bridal gown from Ballett’s Bridal. The goal was a timeless design with a slightly modern twist.
For the tablescape, a cozy, romantic and timeless design was used to perfectly mirror Mallory and Timothy’s personalities. Custom laser-cut names designed by Project Carve were placed on each napkin to add an element of personalization to each place setting. Each dinner menu was hand brushed by Beetle & Quill Fine Stationery to flawlessly match the stationery and wedding cake and provide a pop of color to the otherwise neutral design. Bud vases with a variety of wintery blooms lined the tables with classic, white candle sticks.
The Elm Hurst Inn & Spa’s stone patio, overlooking the valley was the perfect location for their intimate outdoor ceremony. The candle-lined aisle and white faux-fur shawls contributed to the cozy feeling of this perfect day.
Let’s not forget the sweets! Bliss Creations designed a variety of sweets to compliment the stationery and overall design. A classic two tier wedding cake and matching hand-painted macarons and doughnuts provided the perfect end to a perfectly sweet day. Enjoy!
