Niklas and Nicole’s Emotional, Natural and Relaxed Austria Wedding by Anna Obermeier

Happy Friday everyone, I do hope you have had a wonderful week? It’s been an eventful one for me this week, lots going on, but all is good! I am actually just getting ready for a last-minute holiday as we are off for the week on Monday. We decided to take Dexter away for a few days before he starts school a week on Monday. It’s been a disjointed few weeks as we have juggled child care over the summer holidays, so it will be lovely to spend the week together as a family. Don’t worry though,  the blog will still run as normal! I have lots of lovely features going up while I’m away. For today, I have this totally gorgeous Austrian wedding to share with you. It’s relaxed, natural in its decor and filled with raw emotion. The perfect way to end the week. Big thanks to Anna Obermeier for the words and pictures.

It was an emotional, natural and relaxed day

Nicole and Niklas were married on 30th June 2017 at “Villa Kunterbunt” in Pressbaum, Austria. ‘They fell in love with the location, as was perfect for their relaxed garden wedding. They felt very comfortable there, and also loved the idea of having the ceremony and also the party outdoor. They had about 50 guests, just the closest family and friends and it took 9 months to plan.’

How they met
They got to know each other when they were 15, through a schoolfriend of theirs. They have been a couple for 6 years.

The proposal
It took place at home – Niklas created a onsie for their toddler-son Jasper, written on it: “Mum, will you marry Daddy?”

How did you choose your photographer?
They saw the wedding photos of a friend and wanted the same photographer. As Nicoles best friend and maid of honor Claudia also fell in love with the style of the photo, they both booked the photographer.

The Dress
It was a creation of “Atelier NICe”, who designed the dress related to Nicoles wishes. It was a onsie with laces and a wonderful floor-length skirt. She wore sandals of “Tamaris”.

The suit and bridesmaids
Niklas wore a suit of “Havana & Co.”, his shoes from “Zara” but he was barefoot most of the time

Theme or colour scheme
A lot of eucalyptus was used in the decoration, and a light pastel-pink as a spark.

Flowers
Eucalyptus as a decoration, aswell as pink roses. And so was the brides bouqet.

Decoration
The tables were full of eucalyptus and flowers. They also had candles, a water-and-drink-bar and a cigar-bar.

Food
There was a barbecue-buffet with wonderful, tasty dishes, like grilled vegetables, grilled salmon and steak, aswell as a salad-buffet and starters like sugarmelon with smoked ham.

Wedding cake
Unfortunately the wedding cake was ruined by the heat of the day, so there is no beautiful picture of it.

Entertainment
As it was a very relaxed wedding, Nicole and Niklas didn’t plan so much but a DJ. But there were a lot of speeches – many family members, friends and also Niklas’ soccer-coach gave moving speeches – this really was entertainment!

Who supplied the stationery?
There were invitations, lovely cards saying “All of me loves all of you” and place cards made by “Papier und Feder”.

Personal touches
The whole decoration was made by the two and their families and friends.

Special moments
Nicole says that the whole day was a highlight as it took place exactly like they planned: relaxed, easy, real, emotional and wonderful. But maybe the speeches were also really special moments for them!

Advice for other couples
Have a relaxed day and enjoy being married this day!

Biggest surprise
Nicoles father wrote a song and lyrics for the two, and after his speech he surprised them with presenting the CD-recording. Nicole and Niklas were very surprised, cried a lot and stood arm in arm with her Dad during the whole song.
