Jessica and Rubén’s Handmade Rustic and Natural Wedding in Madrid by Doblelente Boda

As we reach the mid point of the week and the temperatures are finally beginning to rise, I am taking you to warm and sunny Madrid for this gorgeous wedding that has been sent into me by Noquieo and captured by Doblelenteboda. Jessica and Rubén chose a gorgeous rural location, which itself is so beautiful that it needs little other decoration. They did however work on some handmade projects which have really added that lovely personal element to their day. I just love Jessica’s gown and matching flower crown. The whole day is soft, romantic and full of love.

Jessica and Rubén were married on 14th August 2017 at Antigua Fábrica de Harinas in Madrid with 60 guests.  We wanted a very close wedding. Only with people we love and care about. That’s why we only had 60 guests between close family and friends. Also it was very important for us to be a special and natural day.

How they met
We met 20 years, very young! We lived in the same city.

The proposal
It was in Santorini while we were watching the sunset at Oia. So romantic!

How did you choose your photographer?
Doblelente  We loved how their photos reflect the feelings of the couples and also the colours. When we met them we felt there was a special connexion and that they knew what we wanted so clearly.

The dress
My dress was by Jose María Peiró  Cadaques model, the moment I tried on I knew it was the one!! It’s something hard to explain…Shoes: Unisa, Earrings: there was a gift of our first anniversary. Flower crown: also from José María Peiró. Bouquet: Arbolande they also made a bracelet full of flowers that I gave to my best friends.

The suit and bridesmaids
Calvin Klein  and shoes from Zara. We didn’t have bridesmaids, it is not very common in Spain. I walked down the aisle with my dad and Rubén with his mum.

Theme or colour scheme
We wanted a rustic, natural and rural wedding, inspired by the place of the wedding with flowers from Hojarasca Eventos

Decoration
My friends and I made all the deco! I really enjoyed doing everything but it also gave me quite a few  stressful moments.

Food
Vatelia catering were brilliant, there was a cocktail hour first with cheese and sushi corners and then a formal dinner. We then had a dessert table with a selection of cakes.

Entertainment
Music: during the formal dinner we had a group of music called “En clave Gospel”, it was a gift from our friends.

Advice for other couples
Don’t panic! Everything is going to be okay!!

Biggest surprise
The face of Ruben when he saw me, it was really special.
