Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend? We have a week of wonderful weddings planned for you, starting with this beauty from Stacey Paul Photography. Stacy is a regular to the blog and always delivers when it comes to cool, original wedding photography. Her couples are always full of personality and have the most stunning weddings. This Florida wedding is no exception. It takes place at Kyle, the grooms, parents house. With lots of room for a beautuful outdoor ceremony and the most stunning set up for the reception. The whole day is natural, rustic with a healthy dose of Boho Luxe thrown in, perfect!

Kyle and Kellie were married on 14th November 2015 at Lithia, Florida at Kyle’s parents’ home. ‘I wanted our wedding site to mean something and be special and what is more special than your home. Their property is so beautiful and we will be able to visit our wedding site any time in the future. We had 180 guests in total. We were engaged for only 6 months before getting married so other than past day dreaming it took about 6 months to plan.

How they met
We met through mutual friends and had known each other for a long while but we have only been together for 5 years.

The Proposal
Kyle hadn’t planned to propose the day that he did, but said the day was so nice he knew the timing was right. We had spent the day with friends at the beach and then came home and he proposed in the driveway that night.

How did you allocate your budget
Since we decided to have the wedding at Kyle’s parents, we did not have any venue fees so it made budgeting much easier. We got the big things out of the way first, like the tent, tables and chairs then moved on to the fun stuff like décor. I must have written down the estimated cost of the grand total a dozen times before committing to anything. I carried around a binder with me for pretty much the whole six months that we were engaged in case I thought of any ideas or extra cost.

Where did you splurge or where did you save
Since day one of planning I had my heart set on wooden farm house tables. I went back and forth between renting them or standard banquet tables since they were so pricey. I finally decided to splurge on the farm house tables and I am so glad I did! The same rental company had wooden pews that I wanted to rent for the ceremony. The pews were also pricey so I settled on pews for the family to sit in and garden chairs for the rest of the guest. We also saved a huge amount of money on deciding to cook the food ourselves rather than have the wedding catered.

How did you choose your photographer
Stacy Paul photographed a friend of ours wedding and I loved the shots she got! I love how natural her style is and how closely she pays attention to detail. I knew based on her style and quality of pictures that she was the perfect photographer for our wedding. Then when we met with Stacy that sealed the deal! Having Stacy Paul Photography shoot our wedding was one of the best wedding decisions we made!

The Dress
My dress was by Love Marley. My bracelet and earrings were by Kendra Scott and my shoes were my something old, they were from a previous wedding were I was a bridesmaid.

The Suit and Bridesmaids
The groom and groomsmen attire was ordered from LL Bean and the bridesmaid dresses were Lauren Conrad.

Theme or Colour Scheme
I wanted the whole wedding to feel very natural so I tried to stick to a very natural and neutral color scheme.

Flowers
The flowers for the reception tables were seeded eucalyptus garland. The bridesmaid bouquets were bunched seeded eucalyptus and my bouquet had peonies and various other flowers. The groomsmen boutonnieres were the only artificial flowers I used. I found them at a flea market and paid only $2.00 for all of them.

Decoration
I considered our farmhouse tables to be a decoration because they were so beautiful and a main focal point. On the tables we had fresh green garland and mercury glasses with candles. We had succulents as our wedding favors and had one at each place setting which doubled as decoration. There were string café lights strung in the top of the tent which were beautiful and provided our lighting. We had a faux brick wall behind the head table that my dad built for me. My dad also built the cross that we used at the front of ceremony. I tried to keep everything simple.

Food
We actually decided to cook the food ourselves to save on cost and it was delicious! The groomsmen had a big party the night before the wedding and they cooked all of the meat, we had brisket and chicken. The week before the wedding we made pans of party potatoes and froze them and then reheated them on the day of the wedding. The groomsmen also took care of making green beans on the wedding day. We did get several strawberry salads from a local restaurant for our salads!

Wedding Cake
The cake that Kyle and I cut I made myself and we had cupcakes for our guest to enjoy that one of my bridesmaids and her sisters made.

Personal or Handmade Touches
Since it was a DIY wedding we practically did everything ourselves other than setting up the tent. We planned, cooked, set up, decorated and tore down ourselves.

Special Moments
We borrowed a Volkswagen van to take us to the ceremony site and as our getaway car at the end of the wedding. One of our friends drove it and we had a blast with that thing. I and the bridesmaids went on a joy ride before the wedding, we had so much fun and it took away any nervous butterflies I had. Kyle and I also did a first look so that we could get plenty of pictures in. That was one of the most special moments of the whole day. It was nice to have a moment to ourselves to enjoy.

Advice to other couples
I would say to treat the day like a party rather than an event. Sometimes I think brides get caught up in putting on a presentation and forget to enjoy the celebration of the day.

Biggest surprise
The biggest surprise of the day was when my sister brought in my bouquet. I was in love with my bouquet, I had expected it to be beautiful but it surpassed all of my expectations.
