Julian and Brandon’s Bohemain Desert Elopement at The Joshua Tree by Serena Genovese photography

Happy Monday everyone, I do hope you have had a fabulous weekend? What did you get up to? We had a bit of a party at our house on Friday night, which was lovely. We had some friends round and their children and we all had a great time, our fridge is still full of BBQ food though, one day I will get my portion control right! I’ve been looking at what I have planned for you this week and we have lots of fabulous wedding articles and loads of wonderful weddings, starting off with this jaw dropping elopement which takes place at the Joshua Tree in California. Julian and Brandon chose the location for its Bohemain vibes and overall chilled out nature and the results are outstanding. Beautiful photography from Serena Genovese photography and the most stunning decor.

Such a Magical Day. Everything was Picture Perfect.

Julian and Brandon were married on 9th March 2018 at the Joshua Tree in California. ‘The desert is a beautiful place, and has such a bohemian vibe the resonates with both of us. That’s the exact idea we ad in mind. It took about 6 months to plan.

How they met
We met two years ago at a cafe in Los Angeles.

The proposal
It happened at our home in LA. A surprise dinner that almost got ruined when Brandon arrived an hour earlier than supposed to. Luckily, everything went well at the end.

How did you chooe your photographer
We’ve worked with Serena, our photographer, before and she is phenomenal. She’s a genius when it comes to engagements and weddings and was able to plan most of the details. We couldn’t have done it without her.

The Outfits
Our suits were custom made and delivered by Zara and our traditional robes were made by Rob DeWolf from RareAfCoture.

Theme or colour scheme
All the colors worked perfectly with the location. We had pinks, blues and greens. Desert flowers and bohemians vibes everywhere.

Flowers
Jennifer from Sacred Romance Floral Design did our flowers and decorations. Again, going very closely with the desert and bohemian vibe. We wanted the landscape to be part of the style and embrace it and enhance it.

Stationery
The lovely gal over at Ink-drops and Roses did all our stationary. We wrote our vows and she hand wrote them in handmade paper that we now have framed in our living room.

Special Moments
Everything from the drive there, to seeing the home and venue for the first time, to finding the perfect place inside the park to shoot some pictures afterwards, everything was a big moment and a surprise. We had such an amazing team with us that made the day go by in a flash.
There was a moment during the day when we just found a swing and had a little playful moment together in between everything else. That was magical.
