Good afternoon everyone! It’s almost the weekend, and I hope you have a good three day weekend planned. This afternoon we are delighted to share the new collection from Poppy Dover with you in our second Bridal Style feature of the week. Fully interchangeable and ideal for the bride who wants a variety of looks throughout the day, Poppy Dover had created a unique range full of delicate tops, floaty skirts and subtle embellishments. I hope you enjoy them, and I’d love to know which is your favourite, mine has to be the laser cut tops!
Flouting traditional ideas about nuptial dressing, we deliver modern luxury collections, specializing in hand designed embroidery and beadwork techniques that tell a story. The pieces “mix and style” to create outfits that are playful and more personally suited to the brides own expressive style. Focusing mainly on separates, beautifully detailed tops and veils are layered over elegant dresses to create a look of free spirited elegance. Perfect for changing your look from ceremony to reception and versatile enough to wear long after the wedding
I deliberately didn’t look around at what other designers were doing or had done previously. I wanted to start with a clean slate and in doing so I’ve created a unique concept that feels modern and unlike any other bridal designer out there. The collection offers a small but considered range of dresses that are classic but well cut and made of luxurious fabrics. Then to build on that, I have created a larger range of playful and embroidered sheer tops to mix and match over them. This allows our brides to be expressive and personal with their choice of combinations.
Our tops, veils and veil skirts are designed to make an impact when walking down the aisle, and later on, they can be removed for dinner and dancing. What is also different about this collection is that because my separates have a relaxed elegance about them, they can easily be worn long after the wedding. This way the memory of that special day can live on.
I was inspired by symbols and iconographies of love is called The ‘Love Stories’ Collection. It tells a tale of a crazy unapologetic love, the kind you want to tell the whole world about. Cupid arrows, love hearts, curling roses, interlacing initials, butterflies and swallows have been delicately embroidered among the garments in the style I refer to as ‘quiet eccentricity’ it balances a brave confidence with a playful nature and demonstrates it in a gentle feminine way using subtle white on white texture and pattern and beautiful luxurious natural fabrics such as silk satin, crepe and georgette.
Based in Chelsea, London, we work one on one with our clients to provide a dedicated service of Collection, Bespoke and Made to Order. ‘The Love Stories Collection’ is our debut collection which we launched earlier this year. We are currently working on a new collection to sit alongside it.
Brides can come to the studio to try on the pieces and work on a tailored look with a personal service, or visit one of our stockists that will be holding selected pieces of the collection from this coming Winter, including; ‘Woburn Bridal’ in Bedfordshire, ‘The secret Dress House’ in Reigate and ‘Frock & Soul’ in Manchester. Prices for tops range from £530 – £1,425 and dresses £1,500 – £2,640
