This Friday we have a serious dose of bridal style for you to finish the week. From high-end bridal designer brand with a conscience, Sanyukta Shrestha’s new collection displays luxurious organic fair-traded fabrics fused with flattering shapes, elegance & individuality. My favourites have to be the gorgeous jumpsuits and two piece combos. I highly rate that designers now are supporting good causes and charities, and with designs as stunning as this collection it is even more commendable. I hope you enjoy, and do let me know which are your favourite. I hope you have a good weekend planned – I’m off on a fat-loss seminar to learn some new skills and techniques for my PT clients, many of whom are getting fit for their weddings next year, I wonder if any are going to choose these dresses!?
This season’s designs are made of eco-friendly fabrics like bamboo, hemp & organic silk with intricate beading, delicate lace and dreamy tulle. Echoing the silhouettes of flowers, the collection includes whimsical full-length gowns, ethereal silk chiffon dresses, exquisite organic silk jumpsuits, fashion-forward two-pieces and edgy blazers providing a variety of options for women to make a statement.
“When I researched about conservation I was struck by the incredibly lively colours and lovely shapes of endangered flowers which inspired me greatly and ultimately led me to design this collection. Flowers like the Middlemist Camellia are romantic while the Jade Vine is incredibly exotic and vibrant. Having a collection inspired by rare flowers perfectly reflects the uniqueness of all my brides. Every bride has her very own style and to me flowers are a constant reminder that just like every woman, a flower is unique and has its very own shape, character, beauty and imperfection.” – Sanyukta Shrestha
Having established a highly acclaimed career as a designer in Nepal, in 2011 Sanyukta Shrestha launched her own brand in the UK, and with it a new era in eco fashion. Sanyukta’s unique approach towards creating her collections is inspiring and most essentially empowering.
Sanyukta has received several prestigious international awards and has been highly praised by worldwide media for her commitment towards a sustainable approach and her vintage inspired designs. The designer has been featured in leading magazines such as Conde Nast Brides, Wedding UK, Voque Sposa, Perfect Wedding, You and Your Wedding, as well as in Fashion TV.
Sanyukta Shrestha’s approach towards the use of non-chemically enhanced materials is so unique that brides from all over the world fly in to experience the real-skin feel of these eco-friendly fabrics themselves. Alongside bridal gowns and eveningwear the designer features accessories, exquisite millinery and flower girl dresses in her store.
I have been designing since the age of 17, having worked alongside international institutions, such as Miss Universe, Miss World, Indian Idol and being honoured with having one of her couture designs preserved in the Fashion Museum in Bath. A Graduate of the London College of Fashion in 2004, my company is now based in London, although the dresses and fabrics continue to be ethically and sustainably hand made in my home country of Nepal- where I support the presence of an ethical workforce, especially creating stable work for marginalised women.
As continued support to the Nepal Earthquake Aid Relief, 10% of all purchases from Eco Goddess and Ameya Flower Girl Collection will go directly to the fund. In addition Sanyukta Shrestha is continuously raising money to help people and villages in Nepal which were greatly affected by the devastating earthquake earlier this year. https://www.gofundme.com/ameyatrust
The gowns are priced from £1000-£3000 for made to order and upwards of £2000 for bespoke and couture gowns. They are available from our flagship boutique, ‘Behuli’, in Fulham or any of our stockists.
