Happy Monday everyone, I do hope you all had a good weekend? Are you all ready for the week ahead? Have you got a busy one planned, or a more laid back week? It’s a week of getting things done at Boho HQ this week, starting the week as I mean to go on! To ease you into the week I have this gorgeous Autumn wedding from Sasha Mihalova. Jennifer and Andrew held their quirky wedding just outside of Bristol and filled it with loads of DIY projects, including button bouquets and a gorgeous handmade wedding dress, made by Jennifer herself. This wedding is full of emotion and special moments, as well as loads of personality!
Jennifer and Andrew were married on the 22nd of September, with the ceremony in Westonbirt Arboretum followed by a reception at Cameley lodge. ‘We had always set our sights on Westonbirt ever since getting engaged. We had 60 guests and it took about a year to plan’.
How they met
We met at work, and have been together for about five and a half years.
The proposal
Andrew: I proposed in Turkey in a restaurant that went out into the sea.
How did you spend your budget?
Carefully and with lots of planning!
How did you choose your photographer?
We looked around online and found Sasha – she was exactly what we wanted.
The Dress
Jenny made her dress herself.
The Suit
Both the groom’s suit and the bridesmaid’s dresses were from shops on the high street.
Theme
We used a palette of autumnal colours.
Flowers
None – we didn’t have any flowers
Decoration
We had lots of home-made bunting and wood with burnt names. Our decoration was all handmade.
Food
We enjoyed a lovely sit down meal, with choices of meat, fish and veg.
Entertainment
To start with a friend of ours did a live gig, and then we had a DJ.
Personal and handmade touches
• Button bouquets
• Post box for gifts
• Tree stump cake stand
• Bunting
• Favours
Special moments and biggest surprise
There were so many special moments, all of it was wonderful. Also, my best man’s speech was awesome and was definitely the biggest surprise.
Advice for other couples
Be thorough and make sure you get things exactly how you want them. Also, try not to get too worked up as it is such a full day that you forget your nerves.
