Saturday Cinema: PM Showing – Evie and Jamie’s New Years Eve, DIY Wedding by Love Gets Sweeter

Welcome back to Saturday Cinema, this afternoons featured presentation is brought to you Charlene at Love Gets Sweeter. It is the wedding of Evie and Jamie Wroe who were married on New years eve 2010 at St Cuthbert’s Church, Halsall with the reception Rosemount Nurseries, Lydiate. Charlene sent me an email saying the following ‘I just wanted to share a film with you as it’s perfect for your DIY brides.  Evie made so much herself, all with the added pressure of planning a wedding and running her own wedding photography business. The Bridesmaid dresses, button and feather bouquet, tiara, the whole reception decorations….just a few of the things this very talented lady designed and made herself! The reception venue was a large glass nursery and they have just transformed it!’

I love this video, Evie and Jamie make a gorgeous couple…….and yet again I shed a tear while watching it, the last frame as the clock strikes 12 and it’s officialy new year…watch them mouth I love you to each other….so cute!

I asked Charlene what her favourite part of the wedding was ‘The sheer imagination, hard work and creativity involved to transform the venue was my favourite. The reception venue was just a giant green house that is used to grow plants for large DIY stores, so the blankest canvas you could ever get but also something only a creative person could feel inspired by! It was transformed into a romantic, winter wonderland full of DIY touches. From the cakes and bridal bouquet to the spray-painted tree branches and gorgeous decorations…the list is endless! Evie had even found time to make the Bridesmaid dresses too! All these came together to make a really personal day and it brought a smile to every face as they entered that magical place.’

What do you think makes a good wedding video ‘Choosing the right person is a big thing. They need to ‘get’ all the hard work and effort you’re putting in and be able to capture the big things as well as the tiny details which show off all your efforts. Also, being comfortable with them is a great help as you can relax and have fun in front of the camera. A great film will be the perfect reflection of your day and every time you watch it you will have all those wonderful memories come flooding back-and even some new ones as they manage to capture things you never saw!’

    Charlene - Love Gets Sweeter

Thank you for adding this as a Saturday Cinema film! It’s coming up to Evie and Jamie’s anniversary and I still love this as much as the day I edited it. I can’t believe how much hard work and creativity Evie out in to the day but it was definitely worth it as we all still talk about the little touches today!
