365 Happiness Project: Day 215

365 Happiness Project
  • Today has been Olympics day and I have to say we have all had the best day ever. The whole experience ahs been amazing and certainly one to remember for a long time. We started the day by getting the 7.15am train from Leamington Spa into London, the journey was great and even the tube into Strafford station was no bother the traffic was fine not congested at all. We were expecting it to be a real trek but it couldn’t have been easier. Once at the station we were grated by olympic volunteers greeting us with big smiles and big foam hands, all cheering us on telling su to have the best day ever and to remember that we were part of history, even the police officers were high fiveing us and cheering as we went past. Once at the stadium the whole thing was easy and well manged, security was fine the army did a stirling job and good to see they hadn’t lost their sence fo humour, before we knew it we were in the stadium and were seated ready for the next 4 hours of athletics. I have to say from a non sports lover the morning was amazing, we got to see so much and so many famous sports people from jess Ennis to Usain Bolt, we got the 400m mens, 100m mens, the pole volt, steeple chase women’s, and the long jump and javelin in the heptahlon……amazing! the crowd were brilliant, we all cheered as if outr life depended on it, even those runners that came last we still cheered them on giving them the support they needed to get round the course. it really was an amazing day and an experience we will never forget.
The day was made even more perfect when we got home and carried on watching the Olympics that evening all together, when Jess Ennis won the Gold in the Heptathlon, being a Sheffield girl this made us even more proud. The perfect end to the perfect day!
