Yay for Friday! I hope you have all had a great week and have enjoyed the summer sunshine? What have you got planned for the weekend? Any weddings? Today is a rather special day here as it’s Dexter’s graduation from nursery. I’m sure there will be a few tears shed! The rest of the day will be spent meeting up with friends. Tomorrow it is my local village carnival, I’m helping out on one of the stalls, it should be loads of fun. Then Sunday we are at last ordering a new sofa! Rock and Roll!! Today though I am taking you to Islington (where I was born) for the wedding of Ly and Jamie. They wanted a relaxed low-key none traditional wedding, that took in their home town of Islington. They did this by spanning the wedding across 4 different venues all on the same street. This gave the wedding a ‘village’ feel and it looks like so much fun. Thanks to Christine Wehrmeier for the lovely photos.
Ly and Jamie were married on 1st July 2017 at Ceremony: Islington Town Hall (council chamber)
Receptions: The Vineyard for drinks, Gallipoli Again for food, and Dolls House for party – all on Upper Street. ‘We wanted our wedding to be as fuss-free as possible and so having it all on the same street seemed like the perfect idea. We also love Islington – centrally located in London, easy for everyone to get to, but somehow retains a quaint village feel. We had About 50 guests for the ceremony and meal, and 100 for the party. It took about 5-6 months to plan but I secured a photographer about 9 months or so before.’

Today we are heading across to Sweden for the gorgeous wedding of Johanna and Dennis. The couple wanted something simple, rustic and beautiful and this they found in this stunning barn in Köping. With a colour scheme of white, grey and a splattering of light blue, mixed with the wonderful greenery of the eucalyptus, the whole wedding looks stylish, modern yet rustic with the use of the wood in the barn itself. With some equally gorgeous added decor and details, I just love the way this whole wedding looks. However the stars of the wedding really have to be Dennis and Johanna’s children, how cute are they in their wedding outfits? You can just tell that they were up to mischief all day! Big thanks to Karolina Ehrenpil Photography for the lovely images.
Johanna and Dennis were married on 19th August 2017 at Odensvi church and Tängsta gård for the reception, dinner and party. Both places located in Köping, Sweden. ‘We wanted a simple yet beautiful wedding at the countryside. The party was held in a barn for the rustic feel we were looking for and it was surrounded by big fields. The gorgeous stone church Odensvi, from the 1700 century, is at a walking distance from the barn at Tängsta Gård. Since Dennis is from Västerås and I am from Stockholm, we felt like this was the perfect spot in between our home cities. We had 80 guests, we started planning as soon as Dennis proposed in September 2015 but most of it was planned in the 8 month prior to the wedding.’

Happy Wednesday everyone, I do hope your week is going well so far? Today I am taking you across to the US for the wedding of Shelly and Trey who were married on 16th September 2017 on Trey’s father’s family farm in West Virginia. The wedding was super personal to them, they even got married under the same tree Trey’s parents were married under, how cute is that! The wedding was full of colour and beautiful blooms. Shelly says ‘I wanted an explosion of florals and vibrant colour’ and this she got. She also wanted to incorporate her love of antiques, this was helped made a reality by her mother in law who is a big antiques collector. With all of their friends and family pitching in to help with other elements of the decor, and a pizza truck providing the food, this wedding not only looks amazing but was so much fun! Big thanks to Allisha Linnea’ Photography for the gorgeous images.
