Bridal Style: ‘The Autumn Daydream’ The New Collection by Sanyukta Shrestha

This afternoon I have a real bridal fashion treat for you, as I am delighted to be sharing with you the brand new collection from London based designer Sanyukta Shrestha. Sanyukta is known for her sustainable bridal design, ‘the epitome of Sanyukta Shrestha’s collections is luxurious organic fair-trade fabrics, fused with flattering shapes, elegance, and individuality.’ Her work is exquisite, totally beautiful and full of personality. She really pushes the bridal fashion envelope and takes her designs to a new level. With this new collection she has taken her influence from autumn and worked with new colours, textures and silhouettes. There really are some magnificent pieces in this collection, I just know you are going to love it.

‘We are super excited to share the most poetic collection to date from Sanyukta Shrestha. The Autumn day Dream is a node to ‘ To Autumn’ by English Romantic Poet, John Keats. Staying true to the designer’s commitment to sustainability and ethics, the new 2020 bridal collection by Award-winning Eco Luxury Bridal designer Sanyukta Shrestha, is titled “ THE AUTUMN DAYDREAM” and reveals her most poetic creations to date. ‘

Can you tell me a bit more about the new collection

When developing the new collection I was inspired by the English Romantic poet John Keats and his poem titled  “TO AUTUMN”. I wanted to embrace the cycle of autumn and compare the changes in the seasons through the Autumn being personified as a model and the leaves being represented as the dresses. It features fashion forward pieces, from full dramatic voluminous gowns to contemporary see-through lace designs, all made out of the most luxurious, sustainable fibres. To me, the young model in the collection depicts Autumnal seeds; adding hope to the falling leaves with ivory, yellow and peach tones in sustainable designs. The daring, yet elegant, silhouettes and colours of the collection portray the ‘Sanyukta Shrestha Bride’; A contemporary muse who doesn’t follow fashion, but rather prefers to make her own statement by embracing her own nature and individuality. Each style within this collection follows ecologically green guidelines, with fabrics from ethical and fair trade certified manufacturers. We have also used beautifully tactile eco fabrics; a mix of ethical & vegan friendly materials such as Upcycled silk & Organic cotton, ethical & organic laces, bamboo, and hemp. Our “Zero waste” philosophy was at the heart of our decision to use upcycling in the new garments. We have incorporated different elements from our strongest eco creations so far; recreating an eclectic mix of innovation and timeless design, while staying true to our ethics and eco-friendly approach that we stand for.‘The collection shoot set was produced with eco-friendly floral installation, cruelty-free beauty products and vintage furniture that has been beautifully aged keeping its old charm alive for more than 100 years.’

What were the main influences when designing it

The campaign is a love letter to autumn and the poetic atmosphere of nature during my favourite season; entwining the nostalgia of natural beauty with modern fashion. The “AUTUMN DAYDREAM” collection explores the season’s sense of purity, innocence and romanticism and is designed for free spirited brides that believe in living and experiencing life to the fullest. I was smitten at first sight as a nature lover so my new sustainable bridal 2020 collection draws inspiration from the peace I find in my home; a 200 year old Georgian Manor enveloped by acres of dreamy surrounds and uninterrupted country views. The warm tones of autumn leaves alongside pastel skies in the wealthy wildlife of Natural Lincolnshire Wolds (a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) was the backdrop of the fairy-tale that unfolds at my own sanctuary. This is where the peace and serenity that surrounds my own home has spurred the creativity and inspiration to create this collection.“As a nature lover, I am charmed by the tranquillity that surrounds my home. All seasons passed by over the years but I couldn’t stop falling in love with the romanticism of Autumn. I waited until the end of October for leaves to be turning with shades of golden yellow and orange and to naturally fall, to capture the whole beauty of my collection, in which ‘Autumn’ itself is an inspiration.”
