Today’s wedding, for your viewing pleasure, just oozes fun and happy vibes, as you can see from these lovely images by Boho regular, Laura Babb. Kate and Tom filled their wedding day with all their favourite things and shared it with all their favourite people. The flowers are vibrant and colourful, the whole bridal party look extremely dapper in their navy suits and dresses and the little pop of colour from the smallest bridesmaid in red, just finishes the whole look perfectly. Accents of red, white and blue for a really ‘british’ affair!
Kate and Tom were married on the 5th April at the Old Finsbury Town Hall, London EC1. “We really wanted to serve Indian style food at the wedding (it’s our favourite) so we were mainly looking at venues where it was possible to choose the caterer. The Great Hall at the Old Finsbury Town Hall is stunning and we loved was only a mile down the road from our Islington flat! It was also one of the more affordable venues which always helps!”
How they met
We met at Glastonbury festival through friends and we’ve been together for about six years now
The proposal
Tom rolled over in bed one Saturday morning in February 2013 with the ring! We were off to Twickenham for the Six Nations rugby that day with some friends so we had a great day celebrating.
How did you allocate your budget?
Food, drink, and music were most important to us to ensure our guests had a great time!
Why did you choose your photographer?
We chose Laura Babb (Babb Photo) after scouring many different photographers’ websites and portfolios. We were really taken with her creative style, and the lack of posed shots
The dress and accessories
My dress was a bespoke design by the fabulous Wilden Bride, who also made some small hair pieces for me (which were woven into my hair together with some wild flowers by my hair and make up stylist). My shoes were by Emmy Shoes. My earrings and necklace were from Esme, an antique jeweller in Camden Passage.
The suit and bridesmaids
Tom’s suit was by Mr Start. My bridesmaids wore dresses from Coast and Tiffany Rose (maternity) respectively. Our flower girl wore a hot pink dress by Moschino.
The theme
Not really, it was a weird mish-mash of some of our favourite things! I didn’t want a colour scheme as such but blue is my favourite colour so that naturally featured!
The flowers
I wanted colourful flowers so had a mix of pinks, purples, blues and reds. We had a variety of small vases on each table rather than a uniform centrepiece.
The decoration
The venue didn’t need too much decoration but we had lanterns, colourful tealight holders and flowers strewn around to decorate a little.
The food and wedding cake
Our caterers, Boulevard Events, did a great job of coming up with an Indian inspired wedding menu upon our request – the food was amazing and we had loads of compliments from our guests!
We also had a burrito station in the evening (also supplied by our caterers) and some amazing cheese and chutneys supplied by our local deli in Islington, Pistachio & Pickle.
We had a Glastonbury themed cake which was hand painted by Nevie Pie Cakes using our photos of our favourite bits of the festival! I loved it!
The entertainment
We had an 80s tribute band – ‘Great Scott’ – they were great for getting everyone dancing!
Buy or DIY your stationery?
We have a bit of an obsession with elephants following a recent trip to India, so we came up with a passport style stamp with two elephants making a heart with their trunks. I had the stamps made and then hand stamped the save the dates, and then had similar stamps made for our invitations and menus.
Personal or handmade touches
Our wedding stationary was kind of DIY and our cake was very personal to us (although definitely not DIY!)
Special moments
Walking into the ceremony and seeing Tom looking back at me was a very special moment, but overall it was just amazing to have so many of our closest friends and family there celebrating with us.
Advice to other couples
Try and take some time out during the day to spend together! Planningwise, try not to leave to much to the last minute so you can enjoy the last few days!
Biggest surprise
Not so much a surprise – but I loved seeing our cake for the first time!

Love the blue accents on her dress, as well as the color of his suit! The cake is so unique and detailed!
