Entry 16 of my photography diary and it’s a full day out with my gorgeous niece’s Poppi and Lola. It’s not often I take a Saturday off but this particular Saturday their mum was in desperate need of some child care so Nik and I offered to take them for the day and have some fun. I took my camera along and we had a lovely day together. Now I am the first to admit I’m not great with children, being around kids doesn’t come naturally but I really enjoyed myself with Poppi and Lola and after ‘Nik and Kelly’s day of fun’ I think they do to.
We deiced to start the day with a little walk around Rivelin to feed the ducks. We stopped off for some cake before we heading off to Heeley City Farm in Sheffield, admittedly this was as much for me as it was the kids! We finished the day off with some ice cream from Our Cow Molly . We has a great day and I really enjoyed taking some photos of the children, and the animals.
I used both my 50mm lens and my 28mm, and had a play in lightroom with the editing. I’m not to happy with the picture of the girls, it was very changeable weather, one minute cloudy the next bright sunshine, and I think I have fallen foul of the curse of the harsh sunlight, lots of shadows to deal with. I also think I need to work on my processing, as it is a little in consistent. I think I did better with the animals!
The ones of Nik and the little girl (sorry, don’t know which is which!) is SO sweet. x
