My Photography Diary: Baby Rudi and Dolly The Dog

Entry 10 of my photography diary and this time it’s all about babies and dogs. Our Friends Elam and Claire had baby Rudi in January and he is just gorgeous. I took my camera round when he was first born but he was so small and so sleepy it didn’t seem right to take his photo. 2 months later Nik and I went round for dinner one evening so I thought I’d try again!

It was very dark outside, so I only had the kitchen light to work with and the help of my ISO and shutter speed. I am trying to keep away from using flash, so these photos were the best I could do with just the cameras settings to help me.
They aren’t to bad but I do think a bit of post processing would have been useful if I’d photographed them in RAW. Plus there are quite a few shadows going on! never the less Rudi is super cute and Dolly looks proud as punch with her new baby brother!

I used my camera in M mode with the 50mm lens
