365 Happiness Project: Day 189

•  Today my happiness comes from what was a, long time a go a very unhappy place. Today on Facebook I saw a very old friends status ’14 years ago today i broke my neck………………..blimey’   This status came from Neville Burrell, I knew Neville back then 14 years ago as he used to be my Ex Fiance’s best mate, when myself and the ex split up I unfortunately lost some of our joint friends and Neville was one of them, but we have stayed in touch via Facebook and I have seen how his life has developed since that fateful day that he was knocked off his Bike and indeed Broke his neck.
  I can remember so clearly the moment we got the phone call, the trip to the hospital, only to see Neville unconscious hooked up to more machines than I have ever seen, he was surrounded by family and all we could do was cry. At the time we didn’t know if he was going to live or not. BUT Neville being the fighter that he is pulled through.
  14 yeas on Neville is in a wheelchair paralysed from the waist down but he lives a very active life, he was and still is a massive sportsman and he isn’t the type of person to let a wheelchair get in his way.
  Even though I don’t have Neville in my life as he used to be, I can still see the positiveness he radiates to others, he is a force to be reckoned with and he has proven to us all that with a bit of determination the Human Body can overcome anything. He really is a true inspiration. I am so proud of Neville and what he has achieved.
  This time 14 years ago was one of the worst days ever, but out of it has come good! Neville really is one in a million!
