Welcome along to another week, I hope the weekend was a good one for you? So what have you all got planned this week? It’s a busy one for me, I have a wedding in Wokingham at the weekend, so I will be going down on Friday lunchtime to get ready for it, so lots to get done this week before I go.
Onto todays wedding and it has been sent into me by the incredibly talented Igor Demba. I am a big fan of Igor’s work and have featured him a few times on the blog before so I’m delighted to feature this fabulous wedding of his today.
It’s the wedding of Hannah and Richard who were married on 14th April at St. James Church Shirley with the reception at East Horton Golf Club in Hampshire. They had a 200 guests and the wedding took just 6 months to plan. I love the way Igor has captured the day, some beautiful portrait shots with a great mixture of details and some really fun evening shots. And I love that Hannah and Neil didn’t let the rain get the better of them, all you need is a few umbrellas and all is fine!
Hannah and Richard describe their day as ‘Significant and special day to celebrate with all our friends and family, very overwhelming. Knowing all their support and love’
How they met
We me through church and have been together two years
The proposal
Richard set up a Secret table setup at St. Giles Hill Winchester. There were flowers, wine, chocolates, candles, Neil blindfolded me and I was led to the viewing point at sunset.
The Dress
Oxfam bridal, dress altered by bridesmaid. Earrings from East
The suit and bridesmaids
Moss Bros. Handmade bridesmaids dresses
Theme
Theme of day was fun vintage.
Food
Pate, roast chicken ad Easter cheesecake
Entertainment
Modern Ceilidh, acoustic songs and spotify playlists
Flowers
Peonies with a mixture of natural country style flowers very relaxed and unstructured.
Decoration
Handmade bunting, decopage, photo albums, personal tags, doilies, vases and jars, suitcase for collecting cards and gifts, typewriter for guests’ messages, sweet jars, vintage china teacups and saucers.
Special moments For me it was walking up the Aisle towards Rich, the surprise champagne offered to us as we left the church in our wedding car, then entering the reception to all our guests as Mr. and Mrs. And leaving family at end of day
Planning Advice
Make it a day that expresses who you both are, be open-minded as to how you can use different resources to do this. Try and stick to budget, plan everything you need but stay open to last minute changes. Get help from parents and friends, don’t leave things to the last minute. Use lots of cost cutting options and DIY, flowers are expensive. Umbrellas in case it rains!
Biggest surprise
Rich sang me a surprise love song at the reception.
