Today I am delighted to introduce you to my new Boho Bride Rachel. As Jessica is now married I needed a new recruit on the diary front. I met Rachel at the Save the Date wedding Exhibition a couple of months ago after she won tickets for it on the blog. I instantly warmed to her and was so excited when she told me all about her wedding, especially when she told me about her wedding dress…shhhh it’s a surprise, oh and of course the ferret racing!! Rachel is a regular reader of the blog, so she seemed like the natural choice. Her wedding is next year and it is going to be a very relaxed day full of fun and colour and lots and lots fo DIY projects……..I can’t wait to hear more about her plans over the next few months.
Rachel has also been kind enough to share some the images taken on her engagement shoot with Tux and Tales

Phil and I have been together since April 2006, when we met in our first year of university in Nottingham. Almost six years (and a total of four degrees, a house purchase, some amazing travelling and a pair of guinea pigs) later, on February 8th 2012, he got down on one knee in the middle of the snow in front of the Belfry in Bruges and asked me to marry him. I cried a lot and got mascara all over both of us. Then I said yes, and we proceeded to get lost in Bruges for the best part of an hour as we tried to find the hotel.
We’re planning a fairly big wedding (about 150 people, hopefully!), but we’re doing it on a budget, so there will be lots of DIY going on, which I’m really excited about. We couldn’t choose one colour, so we have decided that we will have ALL the colour instead. My ten (yes, ten!) bridesmaids will all be in different coloured dresses, and we’ll be trying to squeeze as much colour into the day as we can. We are hoping that the day is going to be very laid back, with an emphasis on fun and laughter for everyone.
So far we have booked the venues and photography (something we’re extra specially pleased with!), chosen a ceilidh band, booked a hog roast and flair cocktail bar, a bouncy castle and ferret racing. I’ve also found a dress that made me cry with joy and purchased 40 2-tier cake stands to serve afternoon tea on.
So, the next ten months are going to be filled with trying to make invitations ourselves, deciding on what to do about bouquets and buttonholes (and probably making them as I’m thinking felt/paper/balloons/buttons/anything other than flowers!), helping my gorgeous mum find the perfect Mother of the Bride outfit, plotting decorations and table settings, choosing service music and working out what on earth to do with my hair.
The thing I’m looking forward to the most about the wedding is the moment I become Mrs Van Krimpen, but I’m also incredibly excited at the prospect of the ferret racing and bouncy castle.
To help you all get a better idea of what Rachel and Philips wedding will be like I have put together a mood board using a few images from Rachel’s Pinterest Board, just looking at this makes me smile, it really is going to be a fun wedding!
