Dionne and Vasu’s Pretty Pastel Indian Wedding in Bali all Planned in 3 Months

Today’s wedding is a wedding of many parts! a huge array of flowers and many outfit changes! Dionne and Vasu held their intimate wedding of 35 guests in beautiful Bali, and the whole thing was magically planned in just 3 months by J’adore Wedding & Event. The planners did a remarkable job creating such a detail heavy, larger than life day with so many different elements involved and so many different outfit changes for the couple. Both the western and Indian ceremonies are breathtaking, the pretty pastel colour scheme works well across both ceremonies and the heavy detail and decoration really does make this wedding stand out as a one of a kind celebration.

It was colourful, emotional, and without question the best day of our lives. Every part of it felt like “us” – personal, warm, and full of the kind of energy you can’t really plan for, only feel.

Dionne and Vasu were married  on 8th June 2025 at Puri Bhagawan, Jimbaran, Bali. ‘Our planner, Juji, suggested Puri Bhagawan after really getting to know what we wanted, and once we saw it, the decision was instant. The space was open, warm, had incredible views, and was big enough to clearly hold our Western vows and full Indian ceremony without things feeling cramped. Everything just clicked. We had about 35 of our closest friends and family and it took around 3 months from our first conversation with Juji to the actual day to plan it. It was an incredibly short timeline and we are very surprised and satisfied that we managed to pull it off.’

How they met
We met in primary school, reconnected again in secondary school, and somehow stayed in each other’s lives all the way through college, army, and university. We finally got together in university – so we’ve known each other for most of our lives, and been together for 8 years now.

The proposal
It was in Korea, at Eunpyeong Hanok Village overlooking Bukhansan, in the middle of February. It was freezing, but the view and the moment were perfect – simple, quiet, and very us.

How did you allocate your budget?
We focused the bulk of the budget on our planner, the venue, décor, photography/videography, and the food – the things guests and we would actually remember. Everything else we kept simple or didn’t do if it wasn’t meaningful.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Splurged on the venue, styling, food, drinks and the full ceremony setup because the space deserved to be done properly. We saved on things like shoes, accessories, stationery, cakes, and favours – basically anything that we could DIY or didn’t matter to us personally.

How did you choose your photographer?
We trusted our wedding planner Juji’s recommendation and we loved Andi Regen’s style from the start – very natural, warm, and not overly posed. After speaking to him, it felt like the right fit, and he captured our pre-wedding shoot and the actual day exactly the way we hoped. Special shoutout goes to the same day edit he made for us with his team – a clear standout and a very dear memory that we will cherish forever.

The outfits
Most of our outfits were tailored locally with no specific brands – we kept things simple and focused on the look, comfort, fit, and colours that suited each part of the day.

Theme or colour
We went for a soft pastel theme with lots of white, fresh florals, and clean greenery so everything felt light, elegant, and warm, with a bit more colour injected for the Indian ceremony and reception. Frans Decor really tied everything together, from the pastel ceremony arrangements to the floral mandap and the dinner tables styled with fresh flowers and candles. It was cohesive without feeling overly styled, which was exactly what we wanted.

Flowers
It was Dionne’s dream to have a cascading wedding bouquet, we eventually went with a mix of fresh pastel florals – mainly white roses, orchids, and soft greenery. The personal flowers, ceremony arch, aisle florals, mandap backdrop, and dinner table centrepieces were all designed in that same palette, so the entire flow of the day felt seamless.

Decoration
We kept the décor elegant but not over the top – a clean white ceremony arch with soft greenery, aisle flowers, a floral mandap setup, cocktail table arrangements, and long dinner tables lined with fresh centrepieces and candles. We also added practical touches that still matched the overall look: themed parasols and rattan hand fans for the heat, plus matching sunglasses so they wouldn’t look out of place in photos. For the cocktail hour, we brought mini-games to keep everyone entertained, and we had a video phonebooth running the whole day so guests could leave messages whenever they wanted. At night, fairy lights and a big white dance floor tied everything together really nicely.

Food
We worked with the Vivre Bali team and the reception food and drinks were honestly incredible – a mix of Indonesian and Western dishes that everyone loved. It fit perfectly with the day because the menu was flavourful but not heavy, and our guests kept talking about the food long after. In the day, we also had a casual pizza party slotted right after the gate crash and tea ceremony, which kept everyone happy and energised before the official events started.

Entertainment
We had a few different layers of entertainment throughout the day. During the reception, there were performances from the Bridal Party, Balinese dance and fire performances, games with the guests, fireworks, and DJ Woody till the night ended. On top of that, we added our own fun touches – a video phonebooth where guests could leave messages anytime, and a whole set of mini-games and personalised crosswords during cocktail hour to keep everyone entertained and interacting.

Who supplied the stationery?
Frans Decor handled the printing and production of the stationery – things like the menu cards, place cards, and table pieces. On top of that, we also created our own wedding booklet/newspaper with the timeline, rituals guide, crossword and bingo games, which became one of the most fun personal touches of the day.

Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We haven’t gone yet, but we’re heading to LA soon since neither of us has been to America before. We’re really excited – it’ll be a nice change of pace after such a full year.

Personal touches
We customised almost everything to feel like “us” – from the games during cocktail hour to our full wedding booklet with all the rituals, having all family walk down the aisle, combined baraat with games, and other guest activities. Juji was incredibly patient throughout and helped bring every part of our vision to life, even when we were very specific about the small details. It ended up feeling like a wedding our friends and family could genuinely experience, not just attend.

Special moments
Definitely the sunset during the baraat and the start of the Indian ceremony – it had drizzled earlier, so we were worried everything would be grey, but the sky opened up and gave us the most stunning view we’ve ever seen. Even earlier in the day, right as we were about to walk down the aisle for the Western ceremony, the clouds cleared again and we got perfect skies and a really nice breeze. It felt like the weather was on our side the whole day.

Advice for other couples
Have a clear vision, get a good wedding planner, and stay flexible. Start planning early and try to actually enjoy the process – it’s one of the nicest periods you’ll go through together as a couple. When it’s over, you’ll honestly miss the planning, the decision-making, and the small moments in between. Lean on your family and friends when you need to; it becomes a really special memory with them too. Just enjoy this part, it goes by faster than you think.

Biggest surprise
How smoothly everything went. With three ceremonies, multiple outfit changes, cultural elements, and a tight timeline, we expected chaos – but the whole day flowed perfectly thanks to our planner and vendors.
