With the weather here in the UK turning to snow and ice this week, I thought it was time to bring you a big dose of sunshine with this gorgeous destination wedding from Costa Rica. Destination weddings feature heavily on the blog and I’m pretty sure that 2026 will bring many more amazing sunshine weddings as they become increasing popular. Kaity and Gray were married on 1st December in Playa Langosta. They chose a relaxed, chilled beach vibe that matched their location perfectly. They used natural tones, personal touches and a scattering of blues to make this wedding look and feel chilled, yet romantic and chic. I love the flowers, the decor and of course this stunning location. Big thanks to Adri Mendez Photography for the gorgeous photos and to Mil Besos Costa Rica for the planning and submission.
Kaity and Gray’s destination wedding was nothing short of magical, blending relaxed beach vibes with romantic elegance. Before the big day, the couple welcomed their closest family and friends to Casa de la Luz for a fun-filled taco bar party, complete with refreshing margaritas and delicious key lime pie bites. This casual yet festive start set the tone for their wedding weekend, inviting guests to immerse themselves in Costa Rica’s tropical atmosphere.
On the wedding day, Kaity and her bridesmaids began the morning in charming, coordinated outfits — Kaity in a butterfly-patterned PJ set, and her girls in shiny beige matching sets.
This couple loved details and it showed in all of their choices! The couple’s stationery featured light blue and white accents, with a hand-drawn map of Costa Rica and a wax seal, adding a personal, chic touch to their wedding invites. Even their ring box echoed the same thoughtfulness, with a stunning blue and gold design. The grooms khaki suit was custom tailored for the big day and the bride ordered a personalized handkerchief for dad.
Gray looked sharp in his khaki suit, and the couple shared their first look in the lush garden, setting the stage for the love-filled day ahead.
The ceremony at Sueno del Mar was an ode to Costa Rica’s natural beauty. A mix of washed wood benches and chairs created a serene, beachy setting, and a delicate driftwood arch decorated with pale-colored flowers and lush greenery framed the couple as they exchanged vows. In a touching tribute, a white rose was placed on the front chair in honor of Gray’s late mother – a really special reminder to know she was there with them.
The floral design featured orchids, roses, and snapdragons in shades of pale yellow, orange, and pink, bringing an elegant pop of color to the natural greens of the venue. After the ceremony, the couple made their way to Langosta Beach, where they captured stunning photos on the rocky shoreline as the sun set in one of the most picturesque spots in Costa Rica.
Guests were treated to a stylish cocktail hour with chic couches, blue accent pillows, and rustic wood tables, blending comfort and coastal charm. For the reception, the tables were placed with pale blue napkins, a mix of clear vintage glassware, and blue taper candles, creating an intimate and relaxed ambiance. Rattan chargers and simple bud vases with soft pops of color tied the beachy romantic theme together perfectly. A subtle nod to their personal touch, Kaity brought along custom menus, place cards, and even koozies for their guests.
As night fell, the party came alive under a canopy of fairy lights, with a lively dance floor where the groomsmen broke out their matching tropical hats, adding a playful twist to the evening. The couple’s cake was a beautiful creation with pressed flowers, a sweet and natural addition to their beachside celebration.
