I am away form the office today on a lovely day out with my son Dexter, we are off to Stockeld park for the day. Next week we are all of to a festival in Devon for the week, which we are all very excited about. I am absolutely loving the summer holidays! what about you? Today I have the gorgeous almost week long wedding of Liz and Sam who were married on 7th June 2025 at Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. Having met when they were only 16 Liz and Sam have quite the love story to tell, and they chose this stunning location to seal their love in front of their nearest and dearest. The ceremony took place on a floating island dock, which looks absolutely amazing and pays homage to their love of the water. A beautiful day captured perfectly by Nicole Chan Photo & Video.
Liz and Sam first met at sixteen while working as instructors at a sailing camp in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Liz described Sam as “a little goofy but very friendly and easy to talk to.” Though there was nothing romantic between them at the time, a friendship quickly took root and grew steadily over the years. Sam, who called Liz “fun and really easy to get along with,” admitted to developing a crush that very first summer. Their romantic chapter began five years later, at age twenty-one, when they went on their first date. At the time, they were both in college, living on opposite sides of the country. After a few years without seeing each other, Sam suggested the idea of a road trip. Liz said yes, and the two drove the Pacific Coast Highway together in June of 2020. Somewhere along the winding coastline, their love story began. They were engaged on Revere Beach, with Liz’s best friend Tina hiding behind a lamppost to secretly capture the moment on camera.
With joyful memories shared on the water, sailing and boating have always been central to Liz and Sam’s relationship — it was only fitting that their destination wedding pay tribute to the ocean and all it represents in their love story. A nearly weeklong celebration unfolded in the British Virgin Islands, with guests traveling from all corners of the globe to join them. The couple chose a colour story that complemented the natural surroundings, with florals and greenery intentionally selected to mirror the vegetation already growing on the property. For their ceremony, Liz and Sam were ferried out by a whaler to a floating island dock, where they exchanged vows. Guests and the wedding party gathered on the sandy coastline to witness the intimate moment. When asked, Sam shared that his favourite detail was Liz’s gown — a beaded dress she managed to keep a surprise for over a year. “I felt flawless in it,” Liz said, noting how perfectly it matched the beachfront setting. After the ceremony, the couple took photos on the resort’s romantic water swings, soaking their wedding attire in the ocean before running back to their room for an outfit change. The reception was held on a stunning wooden patio, open to ocean breezes and a panoramic view of the sea and nearby islands. Ocean-inspired and DIY touches filled the celebration: scallop shell name tags, sea glass accents, and friendship bracelets for guests to wear. As the night came to a close, everyone danced until the final ferry arrived to carry them back to their hotels.
